There is literally no way somebody could write a concise noob guide to disassembly AND patching code.
Most noobs can barely handle modifying maps, let alone making a map pack, let alone writing custom ASM. Do not just blindly run the launch.php script. Do the work. There is no one size fits all LC/NLS solution. You can use it as a reference to see what sorts of ASM changes are needed, but just running it and expecting it to always work is not realistic. If you do not have a working knowledge of both ME7 and assembly, you should not be running the script, period. If you don't know what a php script is, or how to run one, you definitely should not be running the script. I set the LaunchRPM to 4500. Everything else is shown in the picture below. The problem now is that the car does not hold the RPM at 4500 while the clutch is being pushed down to the floor. However in the range from 4500 and everything above the car starts cutting ignition, but I have to hold the RPM by myself with the pedal. If you really want help with pinging, ditch the NLS and fix that. Don't bother with NLS. Throw it out and dont look back. 99.9999999% of tunes have a buggy useless version patched in via a script they have zero clue what is doing. I have the small 512kB bin... Managed to use the launch.php script. It works, partially, as it starts the ignition cut, but then it won't old rpm as it's supposed to... it goes to redline. It's extremely frustratiing... spent over 8 hours around it with no luck... NLS seems to be working though. I've attached a log with the relevant variables, also the variable settings. It has been FANTASTIC and ive been making small modifications to make it work for me (just name changes and translations, soon ill be organizing folders).
My issue, is that it has a LC Patch built into it, that is causing a checksum error after a couple of drive cycles. I apply the patch, correct the checksums, and then drive the car and after a couple/few drive cycles, it triggers a checksum error and i have to reflash it. Its not the "programming incomplete" DTC. Can anyone give me an idea as to whats going on? When i remove the patch, correct checksums, and flash, I have zero problems. Drove over 1000 miles without reflashing and had no checksum problems, its ONLY when the LC patch it applied. Thanks in advance! .xdf is attached. Title: Re: Faulty LC Patch in XDF? The idea is that it will have it hold idle at the highest rpm that you can launch from with minimal/zero wheel spin. At least thats what I've always seen. Had a friend with a challenger (NA) and it came factory with LC. Antilag? Now THAT would serve no purpose on an NA car. I liked it a lot and decided to save up for a nice 1.8T 1M which i have now. The car had been chipped by two local dutch companies before, both of which i have the dyno runs. It puts down around 260HP which is plenty for an FWD car imo. Anyway, i got totally hooked on the idea of tuning my own car. I have some experience with programming (HTML5, PHP, C#) so i figured i could learn this aswell. I started doing a lot of research and got into "tuning" some stock ECU files i'd gotten off the internet just for the purpose of learning. Now i ofcourse also came across this amazing website which has tons and tons of useful information.
Anyway, last week i read some stuff about the apparantly very popular LC/NLS/2step script. So i decided to get more into it and read about the subject, pro's and con's and so on you guys probably know alot more than i do. I read my ECU bin using a Kess V2, no problems there. Then i proceeded to add the launch.php script also no problems there, and finally corrected the checksums as one should. It all seemed to be perfectly fine and i checked the file in a hex editor and didn't see anything that looked extremely unusual to me *im still a noob on the subject though*. Also i used both a MPPS device and KESS v2 to read the ECU just to be certain the two files were equal. Now when i decided to flash my car i took all the correct precautions, disabled all possible electronics and hooked up a battery charger to the car and to my laptop. Now strangely when i wanted to flash the new file it failed at just 2% into the flash and i followed the next steps KSuite gave me. I thought i'd totally messed up my ECU but strangely my car still functions completely fine even though the flash failed. (Requesting ID and Reading the ECU before was no problem though). Now my question is if there is anyone who can help me in the right direction into what possibly might have gone wrong. Im not asking anyone to modify the BIN for me because i really just want to learn how to do it properly myself. Right now i don't really want to try again considering i might just brick my ECU alltogether. Help would be greatly appreciated! Thanks in advance. (If requested i could add my original file and the edited one) if that might help into finding what went wrong. first i introduce me like "i am noob" and i want to learn .. i have problems with a seat leon . i read the file from ecu .. is not a stock file from what i know.. and tried to implement via lc/nls via script .. all good writed the file to the ecu .. car runs good .. no problems.. after that .. i writed same file to another ecu with same hw .. and the car doesnt start .. and gives me p1640 eeprom error both car had immo off when i load the file with winols it gave me an unseen error by me from this time .. first pic is with error after clicking ok .. it looks normal for me.. can anyone help me with this problem ? the file is attached below.. thanks in advance ! FTOMN 00 vs 01 is just the minimum not what it runs all the time, so you shouldn't have problems with it. The hook looks right @ 38099D - Code is at A5850 which is what your hook is sending it to. Can you share your ECU file you used to put in the reference links with his tool?? It looks like its hooked right, and the references to RAM look good enough to get Launch control to at least work. Please try this rev instead though. Also you want to use ME7logger to check all your ram locations are correct. Just go back into the tool you used and find all the variables you need to track. Thing i see sometimes is the clutch pedal sensor is broken and it wont jump logic correctly. I am no pro at this at all, but you seem close to getting it right. What I did for the tune is I took the antilag/2step bin from here: http://nefariousmotorsports.com/forum/index.php?topic=607.msg5026#msg5026 Then I proceded to follow this guide for stage 2 on that bin that I downloaded from the above link. http://www.myaudis4.com/stage-2/ I flashed it yesterday to my car, waited for flash to complete, and once complete turned off the ignition, and when I clicked the key over, no cel. It damn near killed my ecu. I was only able to recover it once I got it into boot mode and flashed it. No problems since on stock. However I didn't attempt to reflash the tune, because I didn't know if it was something I did, or if it was bad luck. I verified the checksum, corrected the errors, however the ecu took a dump with my file. I attached my completed file before flashing, named STG2_AL_CORRECTED.BIN and also attached the file I pulled off the ecu with galleto while the ecu was in boot mode, if its any help. That file will be named BPULL.bin I think/hope I just got unlucky, or did something wrong. Any advice is greatly appreciated. Things i noticed 1) Battery hook wasnt sending to the right hex 2) Nmot was the wrong one. you want the one that has a multiplier of 40, not .25 3) exit was wrong of the whole routine, you need the original hex that you hooked in there. 4) brake hook was wrong 5).... there were more. thats why i just fixed it and sent it off for testing. Thank you for the help, unfortunately even after the fix it was not working. As you said the RAM memory I picked is used by something else, so i will have to do some logs and find unused RAM for the NLScounter. Since that I have scrapped everything and started from scratch again as i was getting confused, will replace the NMOT_W (x.25) with NMOT (40) per your suggestion as well. I will keep posting updates. I can't figure out what im doing wrong, i did the same thing to my friends car and it works grate.

Until the almighty BAM went 'BAM'. Upon further investigation it seems as if the valves and pistons are intact, but the head gasket let go. Cool piece of code, but definitely not worth the risk on a stock turbo/stock engine FWD. Save your stock engines & turbo('s) ::) Edit: blew the engine, bent rod. You can patch it manually or cc00 the jumps. I was planning to program Launch Control and No Lift Shift on my Audi TT 1.8T AJQ. I managed to do it, but not as I wanted. Unfortunately, I'm stuck and don't know how to proceed. The Launch Control only works at 0 km/h, although it should work independently of the speed. The NLS also only works at 5500 rpm, when it should be at 4500 rpm, and I can't get the shift time right. I intended to set the duration of the shift to 0.5 seconds, but I can't figure it out. Can someone please help me? Thanks in advance.

If so you need to look at the addresses where the script placed them and add them to your XDF. Then you can change the speed, rpm, time, etc.There is a guide floating around that describes how to do this in detail with screen shots
