Title: Audi TT 8j0920981c Cluster Corrupt Sware
Post by: Nogger on September 01, 2017, 10:05:37 AM
Hi all, i have a TT Cluster 8j0920981c in which apparently the software is corrupt. It was displaying DEF and all lights were lit up (ABS etc). Now, on the bench it reads SAFE with all the lights on.  I understand there may be corruption of the Micronas and EEP software, i have taken dumps from the Micronas and the EEPROM.

Is ANYONE on here able to check these and advise if they are indeed corrupt or if they can correct for me.  2 or 3 people off other boards claim they could but couldn't.

Any help/advice greatly appreciated
Regards
Nogger

OK, as no one seems able to assist on repairing the corrupt files does anyone know where the SKC is stored (address) or what software would be capable of repairing these files
Thanks

Upload your files.

What tool are you using to read the dash?

Files attached, i used XProg (original sware) to read the 24c32 and the Micronas. Fault was initially that display was lit up like a xmas tree with DEF on the display. At present powered up on bench it say SAFE and all lights on(pic attached)
Thanks

I don't have the car here, just cluster on bench, nothing has been changed since it was sent to me except i power on bench.
I know there will be lots of lights on when just on the bench but that was also the original fault, basically  i just need the flash and EEP checking to see if they are indeed corrupt

Your Xprog should be able to show and change you pin/skc and everything.
On DK someone wrote: If I chose "dashboards" / VW / Golf V from 07-2006 i can change vin/pin/km/serialnumber

That's what  i thought , maybe it's because i read the EEP & Fl;ash seperately.

Still got this issue ongoing, haven't had chance yet to re-read using XPROG Dashboard tool.

If anyone has experience with these Micronas/EEPROM dumps could you possibly have a look and advise if they are definitely corrupt. I reads somewhere that locations $A8610 to $F7FFF  must read only "FF" however mine doesn't , having said that that info was for an Audi A3 Micronas dump and this is a MK2 TT (2012)

Also, what is it that corrupts in these clusters ? is it the Micronas Flash, the eeprom or both?
Thanks

I have a secondhand Cluster which is identical to the one that is faulty except for the very last digit in the part no:

I have managed to read both clusters using the XProg Dashboard utility so i now have the vin/pin/km & serial number from both clusters. My question now is:

1:  If i change the vin/pin/km & serial number on this new cluster to that of the faulty one and write is this all that is required to clone the dash (will it enable the immobilser)

2:  Is the Serial number the same thing as SKC

If i am wrong in my assumptions then any advice on how to clone this repllacement cluster up (i only have XProg available at present) would be appreciated and all this is done on the bench (the car is over 100 miles away)

Thanks in advance
