Title: won't rev
Post by: gareth_iowc on October 12, 2017, 12:52:08 PM
Evening all,

so my friend had a leon aug with a dead ecu so i did a de-immo on a AUM HJ ecu as the engines have the same options.

the car starts and idles fine but the throttle pedal does nothing.

any ideas?

thanks

Why was it dead?

O2 sensor short probably.

unsure.

you can flash it in boot mode but the rom wont start when the ecu was power cycled.

so thats why we went with the spare hj.

just interesting the pedal is unresponsive

Smells like Adam is bang on the money. I'd check the wiring for the O2s before plugging in a new ECU or you risk toasting it as well.

Throttle adaptation or have you confirmed sync of pedal and ecu readout. Like data stream with pedal movement.

totally forgot about it!

So it was nothing to do with the 02 sensors water was tracking up the loom and into the plug under the battery and was causing problems. it had also made its way into the ecu

Yeah I’d heard of it but was the first time I’d seen it.

Couldn’t work out where it was coming from and the plugs were really bad so I did a full bay loom change

coolant temp sensor or coolant bottle. no reason not to replace both
