Title: Alternate method for cluster bin modding Post by: dilly on October 22, 2017, 01:17:37 AM *disclaimer* i DO NOT claim credit for this there are thank yous in the program for the respectful founders. i am only sharing this hoping to help out others on this forum
as always i am not responsible for your mistakes...do it at your own risk here is a program i found while searching for lit needles mod and "staging mod" instead of the hassle of searching the binary and changing it yourself ( which can be intimidating cause I've been there (and still am) :P), you load your cluster dump, choose your options wisely and click start and it will export the modded bin so you can write it. only thing sort of out of the way while doing this is that you pull fuse #15 when done writing EDIT** the program will notify you if you cannot apply an option to your rom Here is the supported list Software - VWK501MH Rom versions: 00A4 (01.00) , 10A4 (01.10) and 92A3 (00.92) Software - VWK503MH Rom versions: 00AE ( 09.00 ) you can find your rom id in the bin file it's on address: 0x4FA and 0x4FB - 1Jx 920 xx6 clusters are VWK501 (1J0 920 x46G is an exception as it is VWK503) - 1Jx 920 xx7 clusters are VWK503 - 3B0 920 xx5 clusters are VWK501 - 3B0 920 xx6 clusters are VWK501 - 3B0 920 xx7 clusters are VWK501 - 3B0 920 xx9 clusters are VWK503 - 3U0 920 xx1 clusters are VWK503 - 3U0 920 xx2 clusters are VWK503 make sure you have the right software version and rom id as explained here http://www.users.on.net/~graeme86/sweep501/sweep501.html http://www.users.on.net/~graeme86/sweep503/sweep503.html if you choose to download, choose no when it asks to update and also it will be in a different language but in the bottom right corner is the drop down to enable english here is the program and some screen shots for those that are interested perhaps you can compare modded and un-modded bins to see how this works and provide a better explanation as to why we can write code to this e2p file Title: Re: Alternate method for cluster bin modding Post by: dilly on October 22, 2017, 01:23:12 AM here is an example of the address where my rom id is located (4FA and 4FB)
since it matches the supported list it obviously works just loaded lit displays and needles, brighter mfa and needle sweep and it works great.
