Title: ME 5.9.2 where to start Post by: seanf on October 22, 2017, 07:03:52 AM Hi all, I've finally gotten around to wanting to start to tune an ecu, I've got a stock B5 AEB that I generally just want to bump up the boost a bit, its just a winter beater daily car, bone stock its got a 8D0907557N ecu in it and I've got a spare 558M ecu, I've read that the 557N,P and 558M are all cross flashable, that means I can use a 557P file on it?
I found on here a 557P .ori file on here and I've downloaded win OLS and tunerpro however I'm confused where to start and which maps mean what and I've not found a clear answer on that, assuming since no MAP sensor there is no boost table per say and its a load table I'm looking for? I would possibly have to pull a bit of timing back since the boost is going to be increased but short of that I'm not sure what else needs doing. Obviously after flashing it will be logged. Pulling pins/skc and changing mileage on cluster swaps I grasped no problem, this stuff is much more confusing. All help is appreciated. I'm also assuming my blue KKL FTDI cable will not work for flashing and will be looking to purchase one of those shortly. Thanks Sean Title: Re: ME 5.9.2 where to start Post by: mbkr89 on October 22, 2017, 11:02:09 AM Nice project.
Yes aeb hav no map sensor. Maf is the only input for torque management Title: Re: ME 5.9.2 where to start Post by: prj on October 22, 2017, 04:27:25 PM Nice project. Yes aeb hav no map sensor. Maf is the only input for torque management There is no "torque management" on M5.9.2, there is no e-throttle nor "torque management". There is target load, which is controlled using the N75, so boost control is closed loop on load instead of pressure. Works fine. This would be useful for all those tuning M5.9x and M3.8x Title: Re: ME 5.9.2 where to start Post by: FreddyFel on November 04, 2017, 04:41:48 PM Not sure where I found it, or if it's the same one you were looking for, but here's one I've had stored away for a while.
Quite a useful document - hope it helps you! |
