Title: A4 B6 1.8T ecu chip
Post by: vilsson on November 10, 2017, 12:17:16 AM
Hi, opened my Audi A4 B6 1.8t ecu to flash it in boot mode. But noticed that its already modified (soldered chip). Any idea what chip this might be? Do I get this in boot mode same way by grounding pin 24?

No. Remove the riser, solder on a blank flash, bootmode flash to stock.

Or if your SMD soldering skills isn't that great,
you could buy a spare ecu and tune on that instead.

On an ABT ecu I had I could just put it into bootmode by grounding the extra pad that is linked to pin24. Dont know if I would be able to flash over it, didnt try, but I think so. It read just fine. (if you are curious, it was not good...)

Thanks. I have a spare ecu that is already tuned so I can use that if something goes wrong. I think that chip is MTM. Tune with bigger injectors.
