Title: Failed to rad test echo from FTDI Device once again.
Post by: Freddwood on November 29, 2017, 07:22:28 AM
As mentioned in the title I´m keep getting this error. I´m using the up to date nefmoto software on a mid 2014 Macbook Pro Retina with Windows 7 64 Bit installed via the Bootmanager.I´ve also reinstalled Nefmoto once. I feel like the problem is my cable which I´m using. It´s a "fake" Rosstech HEX Cable that only supports VCDS including 15.7.1. I would post some pictures down under but I´m keep getting the error that it takes too long to upload the files even though they are tiny. The cable shows up fine in Nefmoto. I also put it in dumb mode and it stays there and is still able to read the fault codes. The car I want to clone the ecu is a 2001 Audi S4 Avant with Canbus and a 1999 A4 Avant 1.8T half Facelift without Canbus.

My question now:
First: Do I need the VCP Driver? I read that you don´t need it if you got a Rosstech Cable, but I´m not sure because it´s not a real one.
Second: What else could I try?
Third: I´ve read that using a blue KKI Cable is better so I was searching the web for a good&cheap one. Is this good?

Hopefully someone can help me and sorry if I missed something in the Noob-Forum guides that will fix my error!

Thanks in advance :)
