Title: Disable STFT for idle area only?
Post by: contrast on December 29, 2017, 06:52:59 AM
Hi

I have tried to search using forum search (which sucks btw) and also through google. Been through FR and cant seem to make it happen.
I have defined NRKAB. Not sure it is correct one to change, but increasing it from 400 rpm to 1000 did nothing.

If anyone has an idea how to disable STFT for idle or set a lower rpm limit via some value then I very much appreciate it.

I can obviously disable LTFT upper/lower ranges as well as idle area.

Thank you

What are you trying to accomplish? Wouldn't disabling LTFT @ idle do the same thing? There is a map to do this by load, I'll take a look.

The reason is irrelevant at this point. LTFT and STFT are very different and disabling the former will not yield the result I’m after.

So you're just not willing to say.

Im working on very large injectors that are not predictable at low pw and idle and afr bounce at idle. STFT causes too wide swings.

With load (steering lock for example) its perfect.

Have you tried raising the idle to 850 or 900rpm? That might help smooth out the idle pulse width. Or you can pull fuel at idle using fkkvs until your afr is stable.  Another thing you could try is adjusting the idle torque reserve by raising the values and see if that helps smooth it out.  How big are the injectors?

Idle raised - no help
It runs smooth as butter at 13AFR for example. But stoich is bouncy.
I did try KFMRES and all, but maybe not enough.
They are 2000cc

Tried basic settings in VCDS ch 99?
While activ, this will turn off all the corrections. Monitor your wb02.

This is a Volvo btw. I’m sorry I did not specify.

Anyone know of any map, value? I can change code too if needed. I do need a kick in the right direction.

Would altering Temin help with smoothing things out?

Thanks to a fellow forum member. Disabling can be done via RLLRUN.
