Title: 2016 VW Golf R 2.0 TSI Simos18 log file tuning Post by: Marge on January 10, 2018, 02:44:20 AM Hi,
I am after someone that can help us out with tuning our company Golr R 2.0 TSI currently engine and DSG stage 2 that ran 420 bhp with us supplying logs files to take it further. From what I have seen, these can push for 600 bhp on the stock engine before it lets go so want to push for 500/550 Car: 2016 VW Golf Model: R Engine: 2.0 TSI @ Stage 2 420 BHP Dyno proven Transmission: DSG @ Stage 2 ECU nr: Simos18 5G0906259F Software nr: SC800O3000000 Tested: YES Mods: Full Milltek 3" turbo back exhaust system non-res with decat and valves Forge FMIC R600 induction Hybrid Turbo with muffler delete Upgraded HPFP internals 3 Bar map sensor APR oil management RS6 plugs If anyone can help then I may have more work for you :) Thanks Title: Re: 2016 VW Golf R 2.0 TSI Simos18 log file tuning Post by: gt-innovation on January 10, 2018, 03:45:22 AM You miss a lot of information here..
Most important one : What "Hybrid Turbo" ? any specs ? flowchart? You are talking about making more power however you need to clarify the capabilities of your turbocharger and after a lot of tests i can definitely tell you that there is no hybrid turbocharger based on the stock shell that will give you more then 470 real hp for a long time. Tested a few and life span was from 8 months to 1 and a half year with conservative boost levels. This is much worst if you are running on altitude. Further more we would like to know the Fuel quality you have and from what country are you coming from as some of the US spec 7R's have only 4 injectors and no Mpi components. In my opinion if you need something concrete use an efr, a gtx or a precision turbo that can supply the amount of power you after like an efr 7163 or gtx 3071 gen2 or something similar. i am totally dissapointed by 2 companies here in Germany that supply hybrid turbochargers for a Ton of money without any kind of warranty and those products can not even last as long as they should but in any case i can personally tell you what i have used and worked or did not work for me. Another issue i had was the rear diff in cases of 550+ hp which after a lot of launches diff was braking down and had to be replaced but not 100% sure if the car had another problem(car was manual) . Title: Re: 2016 VW Golf R 2.0 TSI Simos18 log file tuning Post by: Marge on January 10, 2018, 04:13:00 AM We are in the UK with 95 RON fuel and with 8 injectors
Turbo is same spec as tte525r on the logs the turbo was at 3 bar and engine request was 2.6 Well if we can break the 500 mark then that would be great. There are a few in the UK by MRC with over 500 bhp with the same spec as ours Title: Re: 2016 VW Golf R 2.0 TSI Simos18 log file tuning Post by: IamwhoIam on January 10, 2018, 08:45:23 AM Good luck with 95 RON :D

There are a few in the UK by MRC with over 500 bhp with the same spec as ours 95 is acceptable only if you are using water methanol injection. "Turbo is same spec as tte525r" which means that you are not going to get 5xx if you don`t go at 2.0bars of boost and with aggressive spark advance maps. Anyway power is not the problem..reliability is and if you don`t care about that then no problem we can max your turbo out. If you want a tuner that has a lot of secrets for big power contact United motor sports. They use AKI, UK uses RON. Their 93 is UK 98. There are a few in the UK by MRC with over 500 bhp with the same spec as ours MRC figures aren't on 95RON. In fact, it's been noted that they calibrate on race fuel and allow CFs to pull timing out for 99RON. I've seen many a log from a MRC cars pulling 7-9s through the sweep. Title: Re: 2016 VW Golf R 2.0 TSI Simos18 log file tuning Post by: S2evo1 on January 11, 2018, 02:27:24 AM There is good hybrids out there (only hard to know which ;-) I have tested alot off them.
500PS and 600Nm is ok to run on 98oct with a good hybrid turbo and good hardware + software for Engine and DSG. Im running 6.79sec 100-200km/h on 98oct no WMI with Golf GTI CS full weight car. Can you tell exact what hybrid turbo you have? Title: Re: 2016 VW Golf R 2.0 TSI Simos18 log file tuning Post by: Marge on January 11, 2018, 03:11:02 AM We do have 98RON fuel available in the UK also
We want to at least break the 500hp mark and if anything shows signs of giving up then we will of course replace it. From what I know, it's going to need a 4 bar MAP sensor to take to that point Title: Re: 2016 VW Golf R 2.0 TSI Simos18 log file tuning Post by: gman86 on January 11, 2018, 03:54:55 AM We do have 98RON fuel available in the UK also We want to at least break the 500hp mark and if anything shows signs of giving up then we will of course replace it. The fuel in the US is terrible. That's probably due to legislative issues. Mathematically, 91 AKI and 95 RON are almost the same. Fuel in the UK is "fresher" than that which traverses the US due to the geography and large fuel refinery sites in the UK. Therefore, it's likely that 95RON is 95-97RON where the US 91 AKI is "up to". The UK legislates that the stated octane figure be the "minimum". Not tuning related, but I've been testing is38 hybrids for over a year now and can assure people the stock thrust bearing setup on these turbos is not up to the job for taking more than 2 bar without premature failure!! They are ok upto a limit of around 1.8bar but after that they just don't hold up well enough to sell them without the risk of them failing ... Couple of companies sell an MHI based unit which seems to do well and hold up to well higher boost levels. Ohh I'm listening. I've spending the last 6 months trying to get a reliable solution. Even took the decision to stop selling all is38 hybrids until such time I could ensure their reliability. People still continue to buy these with stock bearings though. We've tested 6 different thrust bearing setups in the last few months and definitely moving in the right direction..
