Title: Problem reading flash
Post by: louie on January 18, 2012, 11:13:39 PM
I am new to this kind of stuff so please bear with me.

Trying to read the flash from my car 01 S4 8D0907551M ECU.  I am using the 29f800BB Memory Layout and right away I get an unable to verify memory layout and if I continue and error reading the flash (log attached).

First stupid question, ECU is running APR software should I be able to read that?

Second stupid question, I downloaded the 2001.5_Audi_S4_8D0907551M_0261207143.bin flash file from the forums and used that with ME7 Logger to log stuff and it seemed to work just fine (well took a while to follow the instructions and get it to work, but it does work).  Can I continue to use this bin file for logging, or must I read my own flash and use that?

You won't be able to read an APR tune using NefMoto. It has protection.

Well done on getting ME7L working, it should be fine as you have done it using the original bin. If you do see and odd behaviour then post back.

I figured it must be something with the APR software.  Now I just need to do a lot of reading and see which LogVariables I need to care about.

Thanks
