Title: Double ME7 - 6.0 W12
Post by: Xynactra on April 30, 2018, 12:17:10 AM
Hi Guys.

First i have to say, normaly i speak german so my englisch is not that good as i want it.

Second, my question:

I have an Audi A8 D3 2004 MY with a 6.0 W12 Engine (Code: BHT) that Features 2 Pieces of ME7 Controls, one for each Cylinder row.

This Engine has also a electrical Controlled Thermostat which is, so i heard, set to 105 Degrees Celius. Thats a lot for an Engine that produces so much heat like the W12..

If its possible i would like to set the opening point of the Thermostat to 85 Degrees Celius.

What do i need?
Do i need to reprogramm both Control Modules?
Are there anything special beside that on the W12 what it makes more difficult to flash it?

I have 2 Dumb Modules and 1 from ross Tech.

Thank you a lot!

Both ECUs should contain absolutely the same bin.
I guess you can bootmode flash them without any issues. Not sure about OBD with common tools.

Thermostat control is in the %KMTR module - you need to either get a map pack for your bin or disassemble the code to find all related maps.
The function logic itself is described nicely in MED9 FR. I guess it should be enough to lower tmotsoll by altering (KFKTRLN & KLTMOTTUM) or KFKTRV.

Thank you for your answer =)

Hmm, if i try it over OBD, is it possible to brick something?

Or is Reading the ECU just like copy a File on my desktop? =)

Of course it is possible to brick something, also make sure you have proper tools for this.
Nefmoto obviously won't work.
