Title: TT 225hp stage 2 : trying to get more flow
Post by: ibizaCUPRA18t on May 01, 2018, 12:59:23 AM
Modifications: 3inch straightpipe+downpipe, 600x300x75 Fmic, badger 5 intake hose and the usuals. Stock turbo stock injectors.
I have problems trying to get more maf airflow for stage 2.
Timing right now is a bit lower than stock, and timing retard is about 1-3degrees from 5 to 7krpm, so I think timing is ideal where it is. However, what is the best way to achieve more airfpow. Current boost is 1.35bar tapering down to 1bar. Do you think I should make use of that fmic and try to hold more boost till redline?

If you have a stock exhaust manifold that will be your biggest restriction.

More maf flow wont necessarily mean more power..

FMIC will really help keep IATs down and more consistent but will really be needed to get the most out of it.

Also the stock actuator will just blow open at higher boost as it's too weak to act against the EMPS

Attached is a log from same engine (AMK/BAM) with brand new bosch maf, stock k04, wagner fmic, 3' turboback.
Car has 46k miles so pretty good overall.

Dont care about 600mbar difference between requested and actual boost?

no, not my tune. just a log.

mass air flow, fueling and timing will be the same if he will do it right i think.
doesnt matter how you achieve the actual boost i think.

Here are Stage 2 logs from my tune. 3 deg retard max at high rpm I think thats pretty solid for now. Sample rate is slow af however this guy can't bother using melogger...
