Title: Motronic me7.3.1 question
Post by: Jon750rr on June 05, 2018, 06:02:02 AM
Hi I'm new to the form I have an Alfa Romeo 2.0 twin spark that is getting a big turbo conversion from n\a and going maf-less. Here is no map sensor on the car. So I'm installing a full stand alone system to controls the engine but this is where it gets good as my car has can-bus I lose abs and the dash so to keep them I'm leaving the factory ECU in place with all inputs I'll share cam crank sensors and fit secondary sensors for the haltech. My car has e-throttle but my haltech can do that. So what I want to know is there anyone that can turn off all diagnostics? So it doesn't give me a engine management light not worried about ASR just want abs and the dash to work. I know it can be done but we'll beond my capabilities. I have a second ECU I can send the immo will need to be turned off. It's the ME7.3.1. I basically want to turn it into a can-bus communications device and let my haltech control the engine.
Cheers Jon

I don't think you're supposed to T in sensors.

No it's safe enough to share the crank, cam sensor signal. Safe enough to share a few sensors the only ones you fit secondery sensors for are temp sensors. I have a second loom that is all modified for this and the car did run and drive the problem was I had every engine management dtc MAF tps lambda as it wasn't receiving signals back from them but car worked. Changed the looms back over as for road worthyness test can't have lights on the dashboard.

Why not just piggy the lights to oil pressure?  Airbag?
