Title: mk5 cluster swap question
Post by: birchbark506 on July 30, 2018, 05:15:54 PM
i have an immo off ecu i also have an extra cluster, i instlled it the other day and the car was able to start and run and drive, the only issus i had was that it would stay saying immo active and the MFD wouldn't read but everything else would. can vcds code it in or do you have to use odis or some other tool?

Only able to relearn it with odis? And vcds with skc code is that correct?

yes ODIS online or VCDS or somthing else with SKC. But if Keys neverer learned to this cluster they must be prepared for this cluster.

I tried odis online and I didnt have any luck, my ecu is immo deleted and it still shows immo actived   is there away to code it or am I missing a step with odis online

If you now have a cluster with red LCD I can't help, but if you change it to one with black/white LCD then it's possible to configure the cluster so immo is disabled.
Big chance this is also possible for red LCD clusters but I never bothered to work it out.

I will try to immo on ECU, get SKC or PIN and attemp to adapt new cluster.

You need a proper cluster tool like AVDI, VVDI, FVDI, CARPROG, VACHTAGO, SMOK.
You cannot use VCDS nor ODIS to extract PIN (SKC).

None is the best, they all have issues/problems/bugs/limited support.
Sorry.

Key adaptations usually don't work with Odis, if you have immo-off'd ecu. Undo that and you are rock'n'roll.
