Post by: boomerro on July 22, 2010, 03:23:54 PM
so i know this will be useless in a while once tony's tuning software is released, but what is everyone using now?  Winlos? Tunerpro?  something else?

post up what your using and what you enjoy about it.

I have been playing with tuner pro recently...  it is buggy when it comes to the 512x1 map (mlhfm) for mass air.  Basically you get one shot to edit, then the whole thing crashes.  Copying/pasting the entire range of cells also results in a crash.  I like the interface and compare features, but there's a lot to be desired for graphing.  When you click on a point, it should highlight the cell, and allow you to bump it up or down with the arrow keys.

I emailed the developer about said bug, and he said it's a known issue.  The easiest workaround is to split MLHFM into two separate maps.

So Mark looked into this further, and the xdf I have should have been setup with 1 column and 512 rows, instead of vice versa.  The control has a limit of 256 columns, but it's not being enforced, and that's when it blows up.

I use TunerPro, For the 1X512, I changed the dimensions, and it now works fine. Been doing it this way for about 2 years, now.

I have used WinOLS, but never liked it. So I ended up writing my own map editor. WinOLS is the defacto standard though.
