Title: VCDS Hex+Can cable issues
Post by: Schaef on November 26, 2018, 07:31:55 PM
Hey guys, Ive done a lot of reading on using VCDS cable with Vag Commander, VAG EEPROM programmer. I can get the programs to acknowledge the cable (proper COM port etc).
My issue is, is that whenever I read my cluster (a4 b5 cluster) it will never communicate. It will keep saying cannot connect/no ECU found.
I have no issues communicating to the cluster with VCDS. I've tried on Windows 7 32bit and Windows 10 64bit, I've tried with several different FTDI drivers. This also happened with my vagtacho 5.0.

All these programs should have no issues communicating with an A4 B5 cluster.
I ordered a normal KKL cable, maybe this will solve my problems?
This is starting to drive me mental figuring this out.

Im at work so I can't get the exact number.
It's a non Immo north american cluster, 2001 a4 b5. Has the center screen display. I was told by a guy who works on VAG clusters that these programs have no issues communicating with these clusters.

Im thinking its cable/driver/software issue.

Have a chinese vag tacho 5.0 cable for vagtacho. Was using the VCDS cable for eeprom programmer and vag k+can.
