Title: 2.0TFSI - intake flap tune out
Post by: vtraudt on February 10, 2019, 07:40:20 AM
I want to get rid of the intake flap system on some EA113 TFSI cars.
Just disconnecting the actuator and leaving flap open (or remove) is throwing codes and can cause cold start issue.

Has someone tune it out and adjusted the tune to avoid cold start issues?

Current car on hand: 2010 A5 2.0TFSI Quattro CAEB Part No SW: 8K2 907 115 AL    HW: 8K2 907 115 D

CAEB is an EA888 engine, not EA113. Why are you trying to remove the flaps? They're not a restriction on the EA888 as they lie flat when open.

I don’t get why anybody removes  these flaps from this engine? They’re needed for swirreling the air to help mix the fuel in the cylinder? Or am not not thinking straight?

That`s right, but at WOT they are open. People they want to remove them dosn`t unterstand the function of this flaps! ;)

Anyone ever measured airflow vs boost or power on dyno in a EA113? I cant believe there is a measurable difference...

Is anyone developed a good cold start tune for intake flaps removed cars?

Not only DTC remove enough :)

It's very easy to get it to cold start like stock. Disabling fault codes isn't enough, you need to kill the LBK function.

According to FR: ALBK the solution seems in KFLBKHKSS, KFLBKHOKHS, KFLBKHOMTM......... ;)

I tuned males SW for rs4 injector setups. But still not enough. Can you explain more?
