Title: Stg 3 asp ko4 switching from deka to ev-14 Post by: Jprechel on February 27, 2012, 08:18:06 AM hi all, I have a 01 s4 stage 3 ko4 with ots asp kit. It was installed bout 35,000 miles ago and it's really running like poop. I tested everything and found the deka 60lb injectors to be the problem. Running 4bar fpr. Misfires till 2800 rpm then smooths out a bit. My question is what do I need to do to switch to ev-14 injectors? Thanks john Title: Re: Stg 3 asp ko4 switching from deka to ev-14 Post by: s5fourdoor on February 27, 2012, 12:58:07 PM have you considered flashing the Nefmoto Stage 3 base tune? do you have a second ecu or have the capability to read off your current .bin file?
i doubt you need new injectors tbh, but yemv, ya never know. Title: Re: Stg 3 asp ko4 switching from deka to ev-14 Post by: nyet on February 27, 2012, 01:13:26 PM So it was fine, then went bad later?
How do you know it is the injectors? Title: Re: Stg 3 asp ko4 switching from deka to ev-14 Post by: Jprechel on February 27, 2012, 03:05:59 PM I just bought the car this way. On vagcom it misfires in double digits pretty quick on cyl 1,3,4. The other ones may get 0-2 before it resets. Tested everything found nothing till I switched around the injectors. Then the misfires followed those injectors.

Start from scratch. Tony's base stage 3 tune will work well for you as a starting point. You can create a backup of the ECU using Galletto in boot mode, then flash over it with Tony's tune. You can flash back using NefMoto if you want to switch back. Title: Re: Stg 3 asp ko4 switching from deka to ev-14 Post by: Jprechel on February 27, 2012, 03:18:06 PM I'm not new to audi's or s4's. I own a 2000 stg 2 also. I have replaced the 2000 motor and everything in between. :) But I am new to tuning an ecu and flashing one as well. I'm open to playing around with it a bit cause otherwise vast quoted $900-1200 for a tune. Asp wanted $600 for the same stg 3 tune I have only with ev-14's. Seemed a bit much for what I consider a revision. Tell me if I'm wrong there. And no I don't have an extra ecu.

How well did it work out of the box, how much playing around with it did u need to do and what did you need to change. Thanks

Never played with the ecu. But willing to learn I'm in Atlanta. I came from an ots asp file. PM me - maybe I can help. My file is done for now. I may tweak once I run with over 120* intake temps.
