Title: Tuning FMIC on a 1.8T (logs inc) Post by: untilnow on June 01, 2019, 03:26:29 PM Not posted in a while but I have been busy!
Had the downpipe/decat in for a while and got boost PIDs okay for lower gears. Installed my FMIC and it has really smoothed everything out, so I knew straight away to de-restrict all the PID configurations I had used to tame boost for the freer flowing exhaust back pressure bs ;D. Still using the pre control PID from the linearization runs KFLDRL, flat IMX etc. I thought the logs where actually okay for the first flash, main problem is the deviation from the load curve around 4750. (pictured below) I'm pretty sure I need to increase IMX just before the point P and D step in, as I think its riding the limit by this point. Just seeing what you lot think of the log? :D logs - https://gofile.io/?c=G4W1Lu (https://i.ibb.co/qpwC1XL/graph.png) (https://ibb.co/L1frpbD) Title: Re: Tuning FMIC on a 1.8T (logs inc) Post by: Blazius on June 01, 2019, 04:19:45 PM What does a FMIC have to do anything ,except for lag, if its too oversized?

I don't know what you mean but the intercooler is not large... K03s...I considered it medium size based partly on what R-Tech recommend for stage 2, they praise the "wellycooler" type intercoolers probably almost double the volume of mine. R-Tech (Nick) is considered one of - if not - the best in the UK. http://r-techperformance.co.uk/1-8t-20v-tuning-info-golf-audi-seat-skoda/1-8t-stage-2-tuning-guide/ I don't mean to contradict you but I deliberately went on the smaller side! I dont agree with that. There is no point running a huge ass intercooler , because your velocity/flow is gonna be low adding lag. The ko3s runs out from breath at around 4500+~ rpm anyway. I agree with all of your principals here...The core size of mine is 550x140x65mm about twise the volume of the stock one |
