Title: Difference between 95/98RON and Race Fuel over 102/108+
Post by: Khendal on June 06, 2019, 05:23:11 AM
Hello,  what's the difference between normal and race fuel maps?
Which are the most maps that need to be edited for increase performance and adapt to the fuel used?

First for sure is maps related to ignition advance...and then?

Thank you :)

Higher octane affords more boost, timing or leaner mixture. Sometimes combination of all three. Just depends on engine and current state of tune.

I'd always try and run it as efficient as possible.

Octane number is basically resistance to autoignition, higher it is less autoignition/ knock chance.

Now higher octane fuels could be mixed with other ingredients such as ethanols which increase resistance to knock even more.
