Title: MED17.1.1 ECU Canbus definitions needed Post by: haenszel on July 07, 2019, 02:15:19 PM I am trying to overcome some issues with my 4.0tt swap. I need to feed a vehicle speed to the ECU (my race instrument cluster has CAN send capability) - I've been trying to go through the addresses 1-by-1 and feed it generic data to try to see if I can find the values change in VCDS with no luck.
I've received previous guidance that Vehicle speed is address 0x4a0 byte 1 and selected gear is 0x440 Byte 2, but I cannot get this to work, and am not sure if these are even correct. I have a sniffer so I can see that I am getting data on the bus, but don't see any effect in VCDS. I've gone 1-by-1 through all hex addresses from 0x1 - 0x600 with no luck at all on anything. Anyone know where I can find a list of canbus address definitions for these newer cars? Any help would be appreciated. Not only can it be either from dash or from ABS unit depending on constant, but there are also plausibility checks. And in either case you will need to simulate the entire message, not just send a single address. If a fault is detected it disregards all data received.
