Title: Tuning strategy using logs
Post by: mid_mid on January 21, 2020, 11:54:42 AM
Hi everyone

Long story short, I had a stage 1 map done on my Audi s3 BAM 225, I wasn't happy with the driveability on part throttle so decided to have a go at doing my own tune.

I cheated a bit and mirrored the BFV engine parameters but enriched the fuelling a bit via LAMFA based on various threads I found here via search.

My question is, now that I have done my tune, when I do some logs with me7logger, what are the guidelines for additional tweaks, ie what parameter do you start with and what results are you aiming for?

The car has a Badger5 TIP and cone filter and a forge DV but is otherwise standard. I have test driven the car and it drives far better than before, keen to learn about how to optimise what I have done so far.

Thanks for your time

Mark

Aim at 1.2 -1.4 bar boost tapering down to 1.0
That's a good curve for k04
Check fueling, knock, iat, egt
If it's ok play with ignition and boost to find best combination

1) make sure req boost and actual boost make sense
2) make sure wgdc makes sense
3) make sure you dont have ignition retard from knock
4) make sure your req fuel and actual fuel make sense
5) make sure you are well below 95% idc everywhere.

Thanks very much for the pointers guys, I will do some logging at the weekend, have a think and post back with my thoughts for feedback if that is ok?

Thanks again
