Title: Fast mode MPPS in MED 9.1
Post by: Albertoak on March 15, 2020, 04:52:05 AM
Hello.

As the title of the post says. Anyone around here use MPPS fast mode to write to MED 9.1 ?? I have read that it is only for bench mode. But the difference of kess with 10 minutes vs 20 minutes kess ... Can it be used without problems having an ecu-brick?

thanks!!!

Is 10 extra min worth the chance of bricking the ecu?

when you flash the ecu 1-2 times it is worth ... but when you have to do 5-6 tests the same day ... it is 1 hour that saves time. So I ask. if someone uses MPPS in fast mode and has had no problems.

Ori MPPS is very stable for MED9.1 and needs about 10min for part flash. If you are not sure ask support.

bench mode working fine
fast options only bench mode use
obd dropp fast mode not brick ecu but need write again and fan run 100%
mpps normal obd write faster than kess

Thanks for all the answers. I would like to buy the original MPPS ... But it is worth a lot for own and "home" use. If I were to do it, I would surely buy it. I will use MPPS V16 clone that I have in normal mode. as sonique says, it already takes 7-8 minutes less than kess and is not at risk (I think).

the ecu ever got stuck in the middle of the flash and I have had to use kess in recovery mode .... I remove the F24 fuse in the engine fuse box (in my car model) and the fan is silent to avoid eating battery. ..

V16 never worked well for me, the clone. V18 / V21 work fine. V18 was more stable so far then V21.... Kess recovery feels like the whole day is lost it takes so long to reflash.

my v18 clone that I had just died ... I have a v16 that in fast mode takes 12 minutes without problem. I am using that from time to time. I made myself a direct bdm port from the ecu to inside the car for testing. and upload files in a matter of 2 minutes. is giving me life.
