Title: 1.8t bfb maf sensor and 70mm maf housing
Post by: xsix on April 13, 2020, 05:32:56 AM
Hello, anybody have good experience with 1.8t bfb 163hp maf sensor with 70mm maf housing ? First I copy MLHFM 512x1 from factor BAM 225 file and as a result is ps_w under pvdks_w , below 5500rpm a bit smaller, after 5500rpm more . Measured mass air flow is a bit smaller  +- 10g/s .
Next I use mafadjust.exe software and 60mm to 70mm rescale, ps_w is above pvdks_w to 5700rpm.

What you think about this ?  Settings with BAM mlhfm is very wrong ?

Maybe only good solution is oem complete BAM maf sensor ?

Thank You very much.  :)

You need to scale you stock MLHFM, do not copy BAM

No, kfkhfm is stock bfb. I see BAM kfkhfm at max load is 1.00 and BFB kfkhfm have 1.023 above 4000rpm so in that case when I copy BAM kfkhfm I will be have lower ps_w at wot, right ?   I need higher, especially  above 5200rpm  :/

Yes, stock bfb file and 60mm -->70mm rescale. I read that is not working good with 1.8t. You have experiences with 3inch MAF in 1.8t ? Could you send me log with ps_w and pvdks_w , how it looks correctly ? Thank You very much.  :)

I have tested four MAF sensors on my stock car. They all have same part number, used ,but in good condition
And all have different reading, about 3-4% difference in reading.
My point is:
Your car is not new, all these parts are 20 years old and have many many miles, soo do your best, it doesen't need to be perfect, but keep in mind that your goal is to make it perfect.
Bdw 3 inch housing is 73 mm, and you schloud measure BFB housing. I think it is not 60 it have few mm more or less
