Hey.

I have made a definition file in .xdf for the 4B0906018CG box. There is much left for a complete map pack, but it includes most of the maps for tuning :)

Thanks for adding to the list! I'm working on defining a file myself, so I know how tough it is.

Yes, I have used a few hours for sure. Do you use TunerPro or WinOLS?

I'm trying to learn them both, but I'm leaning towards using TunerPro as my go-go tool once I really understand how to do all this correctly, mostly because of the checksum plugin.

I'm working on learning how to use IDA in order to define my file as no-one here seems to have a definition for it, I think it's going to take me about five years. We'll see which comes first, my MBA, or my tuned file.  :D

Yes. TunerPro is nice because of the checksum plug inn.

I see, I have learned a bit of disassembly while defining my maps, but I have still much to learn.
Can I ask which ecu you work on?

I'm working on 4B0906018BQ 0261206884 354802, it's for an '01 AUG engine code Passat. I recently purchased this identical ecu to work on, while keeping the original one untouched.

Aha, I see. Then you need to reprogram the imo and possible the instrument panel too.
Do you mind if I can take a look on your file? Have you defined many maps?

Yes, but it's a simple procedure to do with VCDS. I've posted my original .bin here (http://nefariousmotorsports.com/forum/index.php?action=dlattach;topic=1766.0;attach=2641), if that's the file you're requesting.

I have yet to define any maps, homework keeps getting in the way.  :-\

Thanks. Then I will take a look. If you have VCDS and ross-tech cable its ok too refit :)

Hi again. I have looked on your file. It seems that your maps is located a litle bit lower in the address range then mine is.
Have you located some of the maps your self?

No, not yet. I've been comparing mine to a couple of other similar files when I have the chance, but have yet to get a grasp on how to define my own. My problem is time, specifically the lack thereof. I have to keep telling myself to be patient, it'll eventually come. ;)
