hello
i am a new member of this great forum and have found already a lot of good info here.
i drive a oldschool audi a4 b5 from dec 2000.i have upgraded my audi with a big screen fis .
the cluster i hav put in my audi comes from a a6c5 from 2002.everything works fine, but the benzine gauge.
this was inverted.after a lot of reading and trying a have my cluster (a6c5) flashed wit a dump from a4b5 (8d0920932b )
....unfortunaly gives the cluster now the fault def 30281.....anybody have experiance with this...?
i can not rewrite the cluster because my program says ..can not write...
i use vag eeprom reader 1.19. this program works fine onl not with this cluster anymore.....i think i killed my cluster...
i hope you can help me..

You bricked it. A6 c5 after 2002 are crypted you can not write any other dump than from a similar cluster. The only way is to read the dump directly from epprom and upload it here i can help you. Where are you from?

Read epprom with programmer directly from 93c86 and upload it - now you cant just write a dump read by obd the cluster wont allow to , even if write it directly to epprom you wont repair it

i use vvdi prog for clusters and other stuff. also vvdi2 i use. both tools work great or any eeprom reader that will read that chip.

i  can purchase a orginal cluster for a a4b5 .unfortunaly this is immo 2...can i make this work in a immo 3 car..?
or must i start a new thread fot this... ;D

There is a chance it will work - it depends on the date od production of the cluster - theotreticly immo3 was after march 2000 but in some engines ( like 1.9tdi VP and 2.7t ) immo2 was even in September 2000 or in the beggining of 2001

what's the numer of the cluster you can buy?

I tried to adapt clusters from the end od 1999 to immo3 and didn't succeed - of you try to adapt imho modifying epprom and copying immo info etc from your old cluster

i can buy a cluster from a a4b5 .partnumber:8d0920930N.  this is a  immo 2 cluster.my car is from december 2000.
this is a immo 3 car. i did not buy this cluster yet..first want to now of it is compatible with my car...

don't buy 930N - its not VDO , the highest chance to be compatible is to go with 8d0920932

Yes just edit the scale of fuel gauge not write the whole dump - or you can send the cluster to my friend in PL he can make a full functioning a4 b5 cluster from a6 c5 ( functoning doors , dimming etc )

how can i edit de scale from de fuel gauge....in my cluster what i have killed was the adres 0x0000180 if i remember correctly.
i can read de cluster with vag eeprom. the dimmer is not so importend to me.
it be perfect when my fuelgauge works properly.
