Title: VR6 24v (not! R32) injectors
Post by: adam- on September 02, 2020, 11:36:39 AM
Gents,

Struggling to find solid information WRT what injectors to use on the VR6.  Everyone is using old school Dekas but are they are shit in the VR as they are in the 1.8t?  Note this if for the 2.8 24v, not the R32 and they (AFAIK) use different length injectors.

What would you run?  Choyna GT3582R, not expecting to crack 500 at 18psi?

What length you need(short, med, long) and do you need extended nozzle?

*This is where I've been lazy and haven't measured original injectors.  Believe they're short.  For what I know, R32 have long nozzles.  Their fuel lines don't fit either, which has annoyed me.

i ran decapped gm flex fuel injectors in mine. spray pattern is like a needle but it got the job done 800cc for 140usd get 8 of em too

also ive had to run 23-25 psi to hit 500 but that was a 12v decompression plate. i hit close to 500 on e85 and 20 psi low timing stock compression

I'll see what I can run.  This is going to be a weekend toy so I'd like it to idle well and cruise well too.  Don't mind spending money.  I've got a decomp plate (it's 4.5mm thick) which I feel is inappropriate.

Also mid length 0280158235 , 500 heptan @ 3 bar,  55* spray angle very cheap. Gonna have to pull tvub( if such thing exists there) from b8/b9 dual injection ecu though. i am actually thinking about using these injectors when power levels get to that stage, the price is just too good. 0 280 158 112 is the same one but with extended nozzle and small version.

So I bought 0280158040 and 15mm adapters but they're too short and don't reach the head, the plug fouls. I'll need to run longer extensions (I think 25mm) but this will cover the tip.

Will this cause rough running as the spray will hit the extension? Is 25mm length correct? Am I missing something obvious?

If you got 040 in compact length , 38mm oring to oring , and even with 15mm extender it does not clear then you need a long body nozzle with 61mm oring to oring, I guess, but if 123 with the standart 48mm length works then give that a go, its extended tip too.

I've ordered 27mm extenders, will report back.
