Title: ESKONF SAI delete Post by: TurboMMJ on October 30, 2020, 04:30:59 AM hi there ,
i've managed to code ESKONF 0 and 1 bits related to SLP and SLV , then checksum the file and then flash on first cold start SAI pump still turns ON , why ? still need correct xdf for my file as none of many i found here match (found ESKONF bytes by addresses in hex mode) any help will be much appreciated original and modified files are attached Title: Re: ESKONF SAI delete Post by: justinvw2646 on October 30, 2020, 10:46:34 AM ESKONF is for circuit diagnosis. There are other things that need to be changed to eliminate the function. This is outlined in the S4wiki. https://s4wiki.com/wiki/Tuning

@ justinvw2646 : is this the key that ive missed ? : If you wish to remove the relay completely as well, you must also disable circuit diagnosis in ESKONF by setting the appropriate bitpairs SLV (N112) and SLP (J299) to 11 and possibly also set CWKONABG to 0.[85] means ESKONF + CWKONABG will do the hole job ? @Jorgeminator soooo much appreciated for this perfectly matched XDF to my bin finally i could go into it Title: Re: ESKONF SAI delete Post by: Jorgeminator on November 01, 2020, 07:09:12 AM is this the key that ive missed ? : If you wish to remove the relay completely as well, you must also disable circuit diagnosis in ESKONF by setting the appropriate bitpairs SLV (N112) and SLP (J299) to 11 and possibly also set CWKONABG to 0.[85] means ESKONF + CWKONABG will do the hole job ? If you still have your cat in place you should change CWKONABG from 5 to 1. Setting it to 0 tells the ECU you have no cat at all. The bits making up the CWKONABG byte are 'x x x x x 2 1 0': 2: B_slsfz, SAI-pump 1: B_kath, electric cat heater 0: B_katfz, catalytic converter So your original bit sequence 'x x x x x 1 0 1' (CWKONABG = 5) should be changed to 'x x x x x 0 0 1' (CWKONABG = 1). Hope that helps explain it :) Also set CDSLS (SAI diagnosis) and CWSLS to 0. Title: Re: ESKONF SAI delete Post by: TurboMMJ on November 01, 2020, 09:17:37 AM update :
explanation is very accurate , now it is clear CDSLS set to 0 CWKONABG set to 0 (still got the cats on the car but dont need ecu to know it , soon will delete them as well) ESKONF 0/1 coded (not sure for eskonf 1 slv slp code needed ) flashed the ecu , started the engine runs smooth during warm up , no dtc for sai , but there is something wrong when ask for revs = stable gas pedal position and throttle goes up and down ? Title: Re: ESKONF SAI delete Post by: Jorgeminator on November 01, 2020, 10:19:06 AM Did the problem appear after making the changes? Is it the same with CWKONABG set to 1?
Title: Re: ESKONF SAI delete Post by: TurboMMJ on November 01, 2020, 12:11:27 PM yes it appears just after the new changes :

ESKONF_0 at 0x10C4F is the correct one.
Title: Re: ESKONF SAI delete Post by: TurboMMJ on November 02, 2020, 01:16:19 AM update:
ESKONF 1 reset to basic values - cold star in the morning rough idle with hard throttle response , after 1min stable idle and normal throttle response what if i go other SAI delete way : MSLUB/MSLBAS , CDSLS/CWKONABG back to 01/05? Title: Re: ESKONF SAI delete Post by: Jorgeminator on November 02, 2020, 02:22:10 AM Sounds like the engine is running 'rough' during cat heating due to VVT being active. If you want you can try disabling cat heating by setting MLSUS to 0 across the whole temperature range and update the results.
Title: Re: ESKONF SAI delete Post by: TurboMMJ on November 02, 2020, 02:48:37 AM that makes sense but what cat heating when
CWKONABG changed from 5.00 (0x05) to 0.00 (0x00). (CDKAT) Codeword: Cat diagnosis in OBDII-Mode (inverse: EURO-Mode) - Codewort Katalysator-Diagnose im OBDII-Mode (invers: Europa-Mode) changed from 1.00 (0x01) to 0.00 (0x00). CDSLS changed from 1.00 (0x01) to 0.00 (0x00). (CWSLS) Code word for secondary air system - Codewort für Sekundärluftsystem changed from 1.00 (0x01) to 0.00 (0x00). MLSUS is still enabled function even when CWKONABG set to 0 ? both MLSUS tables has to be 0-ed , see attached please ? Title: Re: ESKONF SAI delete Post by: Jorgeminator on November 02, 2020, 02:55:06 AM Yes, set both MLSUS_0_A and MLSUS_1_A to 0. It won't hurt to try :)
Title: Re: ESKONF SAI delete Post by: TurboMMJ on December 03, 2020, 01:33:00 AM update :
MLSUS_0_A and MLSUS_1_A to 0 done . still no changes during first cold (-6 here ) start , engine struggling to idle are those MLSUS_0_A and MLSUS_1_A setting the VVT-off ,which in our AUM/ARX engines is used only during SAI ? Title: Re: ESKONF SAI delete Post by: justinvw2646 on December 04, 2020, 02:23:08 PM Try a throttle body basic setting. Basic setting 060. Once after a reflash I had mine idle kinda wonky. Did a throttle body adaptation and all was well. If this doesnt work I would suggest flashing back to 100% stock so you know for sure if it is a software or hardware problem. It is likely a software problem as it did not occur until after fiddling around, but stranger things have happened and parts die all the time.
Title: Re: ESKONF SAI delete Post by: bamofo on December 10, 2020, 06:57:32 AM If your still struggling with this, this is what i do.
ESKONF like you did both SAI / SAI Fuse MSLUB - 0 CDSLS - 0 CWKONABG - 4 Most important... pull the fuse for SAI so it doesnt run in an unmetered manner. If you still have the pump plugged in then thats your problem. If you removed the fuse you should cap off where the SAI pumps into your engine so you dont get unmetered Air. You shouldnt need to touch anything else. Confirm with us that you actually unplugged the pump. Title: Re: ESKONF SAI delete Post by: TurboMMJ on January 06, 2021, 07:29:11 AM update
read s4wiki again and again and with your all advices here ,job is done car runs smooth, no starting issues so far in conclusion s4wiki is the best starting point for us noobs Title: Re: ESKONF SAI delete Post by: nyet on January 06, 2021, 11:31:28 AM job is done car runs smooth, no starting issues so far thank you for the update; these seems insignificant but they are of great use, since it helps noobs (and others) know for sure if something should be working for them or not. |
