Title: KTAG SW 2.25 HW 7.020 Help files don't match ecu and plugin's not matching ecu's Post by: mdccode5150 on December 29, 2020, 12:04:56 PM I just purchased KTAG SW 2.25 HW 7.020 (and KESS) RED. It works but the ID's are wrong eg. ME7.1's you have to use "Bosch ME7.5 VAG HW I, and other 7.1's are ME7.5 HW II. Also Audi 4.2L's are ME7.5 HW I also. (Audi 4E0910560P 0010 ME7.1.1 0261208922 1037376067 4.2L_5V read as ME7.5 HW1 (P48)). And the Help files don't match the ECU.
Is there are was to sort this out? I have see posts that some people are using the HELP files from other Ksuite versions! Any info would help. ME7.1, ME7.5, and ME7.1.1 and the HELP files for SAAB "Hybrid" ecu shows a regular ME9.X.
I will try to flash/restore today. And I hope that it's limited to the ME7's because I can work around that.

PS The problem with the work arounds is that: If it's a different EEPROM on the wrongly ID ecu, then it records all FF's for the whole file. Like ME7.1.1's it tries to read as a 95040. It would be nice to know if it's the Ksuite software, or The Ktag itself before the opportunity to return as defective. This is the second one I purchase, the first one the lights were on but no one's home (NO WORK ;)). I attempted to flash/Restore backup on my spare, and it had an issue "communication" So I restored the MICRO (MPC) worked, FLASH (MAPS) Worked, and EEPROM stopped at 50% and had the issue "communication". Installed in my car and starts, Runs, and no check engine light. At this point if I don't resolve these problems with the Ktag I will send it back and give up on this until I get good feedback on these WORKING. PS There is a guy here in my town that sells reworked ones that actually do the job, price is $250 but if it works maybe I will. If not, why not use the nef flasher if it is ME7.1 or 7.5?

I found that there seems to be (3) basic MPC files for ME7.X and they all run the ERCSU V1.1.6 SAB_C16x (c)ETAS Jul 24 1997 OS. I have a special project 240z Datsun with Mercedes M120 V12. I want to run (2) 3.0L V6 ME7.1.1 ecu's or (2) 2.7 ME7.1's, or pick up (2) Bentley W12 ME7.1.1 ecu's which are the same, but don't share some items (they are master/slave) I have the files, and thought I could cross flash onto the 3.0L, or 4.2L ecus.
And YES a little crazy! ;) |
