Title: BMW E60 Immo, anybody here? Post by: path83 on January 04, 2021, 01:59:23 PM Hi Folks,
Planing a engine swap on a e60 5 Series. Does anyone know how to get the immo from donnor ecu working in the car it get swaped? Thanks! Title: Re: BMW E60 Immo, anybody here? Post by: tjwasiak on January 04, 2021, 03:45:17 PM Which engine are you swapping with which one?
Generally you need to adjust ISN between ECU and CAS. Title: Re: BMW E60 Immo, anybody here? Post by: path83 on January 05, 2021, 01:53:56 PM 525D out, 535D in. Both are M57D30TÜ engines. DO you know how to adjust the ISN?
i've read something about an 95640 Eeprom, is the ISN stored in there? Maybe i'll be able to read them with my ez2000 flasher. Thanks for your reply! Title: Re: BMW E60 Immo, anybody here? Post by: tjwasiak on January 05, 2021, 02:42:33 PM So both are EDC16C31 ECUs? You mean 272HP pre-LCI 535d? If that is true you should locate ISN in old ECU and just copy it over to new one. It is stored in EEPROM, but this does not have to be 95640... In case of pre-LCI E60 it would be 95320 IIRC.
ISN is stored 3 times, there will be 0x20 bytes between each line containing ISN, so just look for same pattern located 3 times with 32 bytes between those occurrences. If you copy just ISN you should make DDE-EWS synchronization using INPA or ISTA-D. EDIT: Just reread that yours would be post-LCI, so you are swapping 197HP engine for 286HP one? Same situation here but old ECU would EDC16C35 while the new EDC16CP35... Those should have 95640 memory, ISN is stored just as in older variant. Title: Re: BMW E60 Immo, anybody here? Post by: elektronik13 on January 05, 2021, 07:01:05 PM Hi Folks, if you can't do it, give the eeprom files, I will transfer the immo dataPlaning a engine swap on a e60 5 Series. Does anyone know how to get the immo from donnor ecu working in the car it get swaped? Thanks! Title: Re: BMW E60 Immo, anybody here? Post by: path83 on January 06, 2021, 02:20:51 AM Ok Great.
You're right its 197 for 286hp Engine. I will grab the DDE from both engines tomorow and will read the eeprom. Another question. Is it also possible to set the VIN from the 525D in the 535D DDE? And i read that it is possible to set the DDE in virgine state so the only thing to get the virgin DDE and CAS together is to make a EWS Ablgeich. Is that correct? Im very happy for your help! Thank you very much! Title: Re: BMW E60 Immo, anybody here? Post by: path83 on January 08, 2021, 12:06:00 PM Got the DDE out of the car and tried to open it. Removed the screws but its glued on one side.
Tryed to heaten up the glue but it wont work. Im a little scared to damage the DDE. Is it possible to change the DDE and the CAS to get the engine runing in the new car? Title: Re: BMW E60 Immo, anybody here? Post by: tjwasiak on January 08, 2021, 12:16:42 PM Yes you can swap both if you have keys for the new car but you will still have to code CAS according to your car specification...
I would open the ECU if I were you. Title: Re: BMW E60 Immo, anybody here? Post by: path83 on January 08, 2021, 02:21:12 PM Do you know how to open the ECU without damaging it?
Coding the CAS means flashing it with a clear .man file? That would be no problem. Title: Re: BMW E60 Immo, anybody here? Post by: prj on January 08, 2021, 03:46:51 PM Why the hell are you doing any of this when you can just flash the ECU with a different program???
You don't need to open anything, you only need WINKFP, change the FA, reflash the DME and done. Or take a random china flashtool that flashes this ECU and copy over the 535d calibration... Title: Re: BMW E60 Immo, anybody here? Post by: path83 on January 08, 2021, 03:53:21 PM @prj
So i could flash the original DDE with the Flash of a 535D when changing the FA to PX91 ( i think this was 535D ) and flashing it with winkfp? Got the ECU open but my flasher cant read it. So i need another one or flash the 535D flash on original ECU if this works. Title: Re: BMW E60 Immo, anybody here? Post by: tjwasiak on January 08, 2021, 05:13:51 PM @prj
Unfortunately this is not going to happen as he had M57TUD30 powered 525d which is not using piezo injectors!!! Title: Re: BMW E60 Immo, anybody here? Post by: path83 on January 09, 2021, 03:26:23 PM @tjwasiak
Yes, you are right. The 525 does not have Piezo injectors. As its not possible to read the EEPROM with my ezp2010, can you tell me what device could read the EEPROM? Than i will order one and read it out. THANK YOU ALL! Title: Re: BMW E60 Immo, anybody here? Post by: tjwasiak on January 09, 2021, 04:58:56 PM All BDM tools that supports EDC16 ECUs should be able to do it.
Title: Re: BMW E60 Immo, anybody here? Post by: path83 on January 10, 2021, 06:07:00 AM Orderd an BDM100 today. Sadly it will take some time to arrive.
Title: Re: BMW E60 Immo, anybody here? Post by: path83 on January 25, 2021, 04:52:06 AM BDM 100 Clone arrived today, sadly there is no adapter for connecting the EDC16 to the programmer.
I will try to get the Pinout from the adapter and connect it directly to the BDM. Back soon :) Title: Re: BMW E60 Immo, anybody here? Post by: path83 on January 25, 2021, 05:31:22 AM Can anyone tell me if the pinounts from BDM100 and EDC16 are correct as shown in the pictures?
And if the pictures are right: Is 3.3V needed to read and flash the ecu? Thank's in advance! Title: Re: BMW E60 Immo, anybody here? Post by: path83 on February 01, 2021, 06:24:17 AM Got another eeprom reader and know its working ( i think so :D )
Attached the Binary from the 95640. The ISN Code should be "D8 93", is that correct? So writing these bytes ( 3 times ) from the old 525D ECU to the ECU Bin Attached, then making an EWS Abgleich the car should start? Thank you! Title: Re: BMW E60 Immo, anybody here? Post by: path83 on February 04, 2021, 12:13:16 PM Copied the ISN Number as written, but the car dosn´t start.
Made CAS - DDE Sync, it says startcode writen, engine start now possible, but the engine dosn´t fire up ( cranks, but no start ) Thanks to everyone wo is helping. Title: Re: BMW E60 Immo, anybody here? Post by: path83 on February 04, 2021, 12:58:43 PM IT´S RUNING!
Copied the whole 30 Bytes was the solution. THANKS EVERYBODY!!!! |
