I've been seeing B_brlmx switch high in some of my recent logs.  My limited understanding is that this bit is there to protect against excessive intake air temps, particularly while generating boost at elevation.  In LDRLMX I see this bit toggled by "E_."  I presume this is some sort of error, but does anyone know the exact conditions that trigger this?  I know I could move LDPBN up out of the way, but I'd prefer to preserve this functionality and really understand the cause.

Unfortunately that block is incomplete, and it doesn't really say what error triggers B_brlmx, possibly TMOTMX

Hey thanks, nyet.  I've been doing more logging, and I'm thinking my IAT might be acting up.  I don't have any stored fault codes, but I see the IAT's dip slightly under boost.  Overall, the temps reported look a bit low to me.  It's cheap enough to test, so I'll be replacing that once it arrives and will update once I have some results.

From the FR (page 857), E_ looks like ANY error of

Thanks again!  That narrows it down, anyway.  I haven't seen the bit tripped in the logs today.  Whatever it is doesn't seem to be consistently occurring.

Well, I changed out the IAT sensor today and found the pigtail connector hanging on by a thread.  Luckily I had a compatible connector in my spare parts bin.  We'll see if this improves things.

For anyone wondering, the IAT sensor can be changed without removing the manifold.  If you remove the passenger side diverter valve, you can sneak your hand under the manifold and access the IAT.  It certainly helps if you don't have extra-large mitts, though.

So far so good.  I haven't seen B_brlmx switched in any of my logs.  Overall, the car feels smoother as well.  This might be some confirmation bias, but I won't complain.
