Title: Help understanding CAN wake up to Audi A3 cluster Post by: JakeGT on October 17, 2021, 11:18:04 AM Hi,
I've been attempted to get an A3 cluster powered up on the bench (8P0920981F) but I'm struggling to get my head around the wiring. I have a CANanylst-ii CAN to USB tool but I don't understand how it's meant to be wired. On the dash you have CAN H & L on pins 29 & 30 which I assumed went to the CANusb but CAN wakeup line is on pin 5 of the dash which I guess is where the signal needs to be sent but not sure how to wire it? Not receiving anything but I guess it's because the cluster needs to be woken up first on the wake up pin 5? Are you sure the frame is correct?
I had no problem with starting A6 C6 cluster on table with can frames , I never tried A3 8P with can frame because I had a setup with bordnetz and gateway - if I will find some time I will try to start it using can frames. Check also your CAN termination, maybe you need to add a resistor if cluster and tool does not have inside.
