Title: Simos 18.1, Audi A4 B8, Airmass readings are off, why? Post by: mackan on February 18, 2022, 12:47:40 AM Have been tuning Saab/Opel/Vauxhall (Trionic, being one of the devs for Trionic Suites), Delco E39 and a couple of different Bosch systems since 2007 I decided to help my friend out with his Audi A4 B8 2.0 TFSI. Tuning strategies has been a bit different compared to the other systems but had no issue with the torque limiters and the monitoring but with the airmass readings (or conversions as there is no maf...).
Attached are 5 files, stock, Rev007 and Rev008 plus map definitions for Tunerpro and Winols. Maps and definitions: Onedrive link to maps & definitions (https://1drv.ms/u/s!Am7Y4TvaqoE8m_ofzRl89-JPznEaZA?e=xGCLyN) Logs: Rev007 (See attached picture) AutoTuner Log Rev007 (https://www.autotuner-tool.com/en/log/ddcc12d0dfb479c00f2596c15b0a3a2317259686c865ffb4117217a709f7390e) Rev008 (See attached picture) AutoTuner Log Rev008 (https://www.autotuner-tool.com/en/log/38ef2c7b7db330538f0dda074db7fbe2e3fadebeb7e97f5f0d788afa1b0ff1f5) In Rev007 note the airmass reading being off in full load and therefor ignition is wrong and fueltrim goes through the roof. In Rev008 this is sorted with just small changes in a few maps. Any of you here on the forum with Simos 18 insights that has some info on why this is happening? I have been looking through the available guides and FR but havent found out anything regarding this subject so far. Edit: Shall c_map_fl_stnd "Standardised full load manifold pressure" be left as stock? I see it categorized under INSY Volumetric efficiency. Post by: mackan on February 18, 2022, 05:47:50 AM Here is one English Simos 18.1 Funktionsrahmen if could help you: Thanks, I had that already but have not been able to find the answer on the airmass in there :(https://mega.nz/file/1aQTGKqa#cZ__Nw93LbctXTyJW2xd-PTqNskVRi6OU4BQD7BWYtQ Im leaning towards calibration in the symbol I added after edit above being the reason. Trying to find it in the FR seems not to work. Have you got any tip on howto search, serms like the Map Folder names are in there but not the specific maps that VW use? Title: Re: Simos 18.1, Audi A4 B8, Airmass readings are off, why? Post by: EanDem on February 19, 2022, 02:07:21 AM Easy. You messed up with TQ>MAF and MAF ref maps. Fuel trims another story - but again easy fix. I was unable access files of yours - PM me - i can look. Curions.
Be aware AT not for all parameters use accurate calculations compare to ECU RAM data - but that is another story again :) Title: Re: Simos 18.1, Audi A4 B8, Airmass readings are off, why? Post by: mackan on February 19, 2022, 07:03:21 AM Same torque maps in both files so not likely.
Have altered the torque to airmass intervention to allow fore some more air above 350nm (where stock torque is). This made the ignition go back to the set values in the ignition maps. Will post the maps later, there was issues when trying to attach the files here. Title: Re: Simos 18.1, Audi A4 B8, Airmass readings are off, why? I see it categorized under INSY Volumetric efficiency. I'll answer myself, yes that symbol shall be left as stock as other tables reference it.I found this tuning guide rather helpful: https://ecutek.atlassian.net/wiki/spaces/SUPPORT/pages/21430325/VAG+EA888+Engine+Tuning Leaving the definitions on here if anyone else should need them! :) |
