Title: ME7.5 moving from 06A906032HS to 8N0906018CB: What traps will I run into? Post by: blairl on April 26, 2022, 04:35:17 PM Hi Nefmoto,
I have an AWP 1.8T that came with an 06A906032HS ecu. The car has early TT225 injectors, an 80mm MAF housing with stock sensor, and a Borg Warner K04-001 turbo. (A prominent Canadian tuning house's Stage 2 file was allegedly compatible with these hardware changes, hence why I'm here) It is my understanding that the 018CB is the flavor of choice of some experts on this forum for this ecu hardware vesrion; the reason being that this file is fully defined. I'm happy with the fueling and MAF calibration of the file I'm running now. I'm frustrated with running into problems which require me to go and hunt down maps. I'm not good at it and it is very time consuming. I see no reason to do this if I have access to a fully defined binary, which will make my life much less confusing. I barely know what I'm doing as it is. My primary question is: Provided I port over the changes I've made to my 032hs file correctly in terms of MAF and injector calibration, can I just set LDRXN on the 018CB file to what I'm currently running and things will, for the most part, fall into place? I'm wondering what I haven't considered, and what will catch me out as a novice. Thanks in advance! Title: Re: ME7.5 moving from 06A906032HS to 8N0906018CB: What traps will I run into? Also if you dont have the immo removed you may run into immo issues. Title: Re: ME7.5 moving from 06A906032HS to 8N0906018CB: What traps will I run into? From the research I've done it looks like cross-flashing these is not an issue. http://nefariousmotorsports.com/forum/index.php?topic=4936.0 I have that map pack, and it's very good. Some random stuff that I'm now getting into isn't defined, mlmax for example. That absolutely murders me in terms of how long it takes me to do something simple. Post by: _nameless on April 27, 2022, 04:22:18 PM Imo you'd be better staying with the 225 software for the 225 hardware (If I read that correctly? I;; be honest I didn't read the whole thing) The 225 has a wideband egt sensor and if you're using the 180 software on the 225 that all goes out the window. Or if youre planning on 225 software on the 180 you'll need to codeout the egt sensors and really I don't see any advantage either way honestly. Also, if you need specific maps upload the stock file you plan on uning with a list of maps you need and I can easily add them. Some time ago I made a few videos on how to use winols and how to find maps, might not hurt to check them out

I used these last year when I was just getting started and it was a huge help! I'll have a shot at finding MLMAX and maybe you can confirm the location for me? I appreciate the help. My engine code (AWP) is a 180hp wideband car. It's got the tiny direct bolt-on k04-001 not the k04-02x which the >225hp cars came with. Regarding the task at hand here, I was mistaken about the part number. From the (excellent) 06A906032HS 5120 hack thread: What's the point in doing this on some obscure bin? It's enough to do one bin for every bootrom and then crossflash ECU to it. And I'm pretty sure there's a bin that's already done. I could not find one that looked right. I use 8N0906018J on these, because there is a full hex/a2l available. This is not an A4 file, it's A3/Golf/Leon/Octavia platform. And if you are doing 5120, start with a file you have hex/a2l for at the VERY LEAST. I have not been able to find a def file on here for 8N0906018J. The 018CB is fully defined, but it's for the BAM 225hp engine which has different compression ratio which I imagine will change the optimum torque map / torque to load conversion and vice versa etc. For this reason I will avoid changing over to that file. Generally I just compare the 032HS to the 018CB and poke around until I find a unique string / something in both files near where I'm looking that I can index myself off of to locate things. You can use any aww/awv/awp/auq/aum wideband 150/180 flash and def without a problem. The 032hs will be fine, its the original software from a 2002 vw jetta or golf / gti. Being that yours is immo 3 awp engine code auq and awp will direct flash without needing to modify the immo.My engine code (AWP) is a 180hp wideband car. That said if I'm right, it's 640kg/hr (it's 680kg/hr on the BAM). I need to go over my logs and see what my maf readings are, quick math suggests that's 172.8 g/s Title: Re: ME7.5 moving from 06A906032HS to 8N0906018CB: What traps will I run into? Post by: joshuafarwel on August 26, 2022, 10:21:34 PM You're a legend! Thank you! Crossflash 018bb from a 225 tt, its wideband and i hear itll work. This is likely the most well defined xdf you'll ever find for it. Only thing missing is a 5120 patch. |
