Title: 06A906032NG ECU I need boot mode or SKC
Post by: randallhb on July 24, 2022, 03:24:35 PM
Hello, in my country VW is no longer sold, and I need to fix a car for a friend, the ECU was fried.

He got a replacement ECU part 06A906032NG but we don't have the SKC for this ECU, to adapt the immobilizer 3. Also we don't have access to the cluster that came with this ECU.

This ECU is found in the following cars in Mexican ETKA:
Engine code: BHP
New Beetles: 1C-4-400 001 >> 1C-6-405 552
Jettas: 9M-4-000-001 >> 9M-6-022-255
Golfs: 1J-43080 188 >>

I started reading here how to get the eeprom from the ECU, and then I can get the SKC, and was surprised when I noticed the ECU uses the old 80-pin connector, instead of the 121-pin connector.
From this site I found out that in 80-pin connector, 12v: pin 1, 3, 43; ground: pin 2; k-line: pin 19

So I have two questions.
1. What pin to ground in this ECU to enter boot mode
OR
2. How to retrieve the SKC using another tool

Thanks for your help

So, I found out correct the pin layout for this ECU

12V
T80-4 - ignition
T80-15
T80-27

GROUND
T80-28
T80-2

K-LINE
T80-29

I found a couple of pics locating the grounding pin:

I could read the eeprom using me7eeprom

Use this to read the EEPROM: http://nefariousmotorsports.com/forum/index.php?topic=1168.0

You can read in OBD mode, not sure of it will work if security access is not granted though.

SKC is stored at 32 and 33 in EEPROM. (http://sigurd.tech/wp-content/uploads/2021/12/kXdlPe6.png)

Just use visualmlme7logger (tool - eeprom) with me7_95040 tool
Obd reading should work so no need to bench usually to read only

Seems like you already know how to pull the 95040. You could also use the eepromtool_04.exe made by turboat to get the SKC. Pull the eeprom, put the eepromtool in your command directory. Use the following command...

eepromtool_04.exe --in 95040.bin --status

It'll list the SKC.  :)
