Title: 1.8t fueling problem, high lambda Post by: sebol1204 on August 06, 2022, 05:25:42 AM Hello, i tune my 1.8t bfb engine (100% stock)
I change: LDRXN LDRXNZK KFMIOP (witch axis because my load is ~151 and stock axis is max 145) LAMFA (values witch axis, 0,85 to 0,81 on high rpm) KFZW and KFZW2 (only axis, stock is 145, now is 160) KFWZWOP and KFWZWOP2 (axis from 145 to 160) FBSTABGM stock (850 value 0,000 and 900,940,950 value 1,000) TABGTS stock (850) Fuel 98, no ignition retards in channel 20 From 5400rpm lambda is 076 - 0,74 and i don't have idea why Calculated egt in channnel 34 is lowe than 850 Injection time is good, injectors are't looped Any sugestions? Title: Re: 1.8t fueling problem, high lambda Post by: amray on August 06, 2022, 06:22:33 AM Faulty fuel pump.
Title: Re: 1.8t fueling problem, high lambda Post by: sebol1204 on August 06, 2022, 06:38:34 AM I think when pump is broken then injectiong timming will be longer. I think, my problem is in my mod but i don't have idea what i doing wrong
Title: Re: 1.8t fueling problem, high lambda Post by: fknbrkn on August 06, 2022, 06:39:56 AM Problem with what?
Too rich than you expected? Log all 3 fueling paths (read wiki) Title: Re: 1.8t fueling problem, high lambda Post by: sebol1204 on August 06, 2022, 07:12:35 AM log in post
after 4,5k rpm lambda for component protections is activated. i see EGT Very high but why? VCDS show me lower EGT than le7logger :O No knocks Title: Re: 1.8t fueling problem, high lambda Post by: sebol1204 on August 06, 2022, 01:36:15 PM I maked better log, is in attachment. Ok, high EGT model is my problem, but why? I want too high load for stock car? (~0,9 - 0,95 bar)
Title: Re: 1.8t fueling problem, high lambda Post by: nyet on August 06, 2022, 01:54:00 PM please log more than just fueling. You can safely log everything here (not with a leading semicolon) at the same time

Title: Re: 1.8t fueling problem, high lambda Post by: nyet on August 06, 2022, 04:37:33 PM That EGT does look pretty high for those boost levels. Not sure why,
Title: Re: 1.8t fueling problem, high lambda Post by: sebol1204 on August 07, 2022, 01:21:16 AM I know but i don't have idea why. Car is 100% stock, on stock program my EGT is around ~820 - 840, but i don't have BTS intervention and lambda is 0,9 to red line. I checked timing values on channel 90/91/93 and for me is ok, 1CF is acceptable. Maybe ignition is to agresive? But i don't have knocking.
I have some idea. Rear O2 sensor after catalyst have an impact for EGT model? Maybe this is problem? Also car have LPG (autogas) instalation, but now is off Title: Re: 1.8t fueling problem, high lambda Post by: prj on August 07, 2022, 10:12:23 AM There's no EGT in those logs. Only theoretical BS.
If you want to see real EGT, fit a real sensor. Title: Re: 1.8t fueling problem, high lambda Post by: sebol1204 on August 07, 2022, 02:09:24 PM Yes, i know, this is calculated EGT, not real. My problem is bad working EGT model but why? Stock file have bad calibrated EGT model? How could i corrupt the calibrations of EGT with such small changes? I can edit BTS map, but i think this tuning is no safety.

Stock is not calibrated for non-stock boost.Title: Re: 1.8t fueling problem, high lambda Post by: sebol1204 on August 08, 2022, 06:27:37 AM Stock is not calibrated for non-stock boost. Ok, this is very good tip. Is possible to fix it without outside EGT sensor or not? I ask baceuse my previous car was tuned by professional tuner, and this car was "tortured" and engine working very very good and no problems. This tuner don't using outside EGT sensor. (This same car, model and engine) I can edit KFLBTS and set lambda for good levels for me, but i think this is not good because i'm disabling protection for engine. I'm right or not? Or maybe this is only way for tune? Title: Re: 1.8t fueling problem, high lambda Post by: fknbrkn on August 08, 2022, 07:13:56 AM Youre overthinking this situation. Its just a stock engine, fill bts with 0.8. job done
Title: Re: 1.8t fueling problem, high lambda Post by: prj on August 08, 2022, 12:23:41 PM What he said.
Literally with 20 deg timing at redline, stock turbo and 0.8-ish lambda you will never have EGT issues on this engine. Title: Re: 1.8t fueling problem, high lambda Post by: sebol1204 on August 08, 2022, 10:15:45 PM Yes, i checked this and i don't see red light from hot on manifold, turbo and catalyst, so proably all is ok. Why i asking? Because in the future i will mount FMIC, bigger injectors, downpipe and proably hybrid turbo. I want to learn how to do tune correctly right away ;) On stock engines lambda is little lean and enrihment with bts is need for safety. When i set good, rich lambda this is not nessesary?
