Title: possible fried ecu - boot mode Post by: airtite on June 14, 2012, 02:23:20 AM Hi
was going too do an eeprom write, opened the ecu and connected too my bench harness while shorting pin 24 the cable slipped and shorted too pin 23 now I cant get comms too the ecu at all, already PMed notorius and he says he doubts that it would fry the ecu any other comments or suggestions on how to recover would be greatly appreciated. Thanks Title: Re: possible fried ecu - boot mode Post by: airtite on June 17, 2012, 11:32:46 PM anyone?
Title: Re: possible fried ecu - boot mode Post by: vwaudiguy on June 26, 2012, 10:55:37 PM I suppose you could try a capacitive discharge? Which is basically shorting + to ground to drain the components on the board completely, then power back up? Never slipped in boot mode, but I'm sure someone has?

Title: Re: possible fried ecu - boot mode Post by: Stompen on July 05, 2012, 04:09:59 PM I`ve slipped a few times, and for the next 30-40 minutes or so, I cant connect to the ecu.
If I leave it overnight it always works fine again the next day, probably for the same reason vwaudiguy mentions... it takes some time to drain the circuits.. Good luck :) |
