Title: Re: e85 and timing Post by: joshuafarwel on December 06, 2022, 12:11:29 AM I updated KRKTE to run on e85 and it works. add 5 degrees across the table at least, and zero out kfdzwkg since you arent knock limited and dont need to retard timing for knock thatll never happen.I updated KFSTT to cold start. But I did not add any degree on KFZW, is it dangerous? For now, I don't see any change, other than more "pop" in exhaust. wasting fuel is dangerous for the wallet. Run your motor efficiently and enjoy the torque that e85 allows you. Title: Re: e85 and timing Post by: jcsbanks on December 06, 2022, 08:34:58 AM Some studies show the flame front speed being faster with increasing ethanol. MBT isn't the only constraint the OEM calibrator has to consider. Knock can occur on E85 at high charge temperatures. Autoignition temperature of ethanol blends have been reported as lower than gasoline in some studies. If you disable knock control you may end up with knock induced pre-ignition and then be wondering why you have a hole in something whilst claiming E85 doesn't knock.
