Title: Tuning job $1,000 - MED17.5.2 Throttle Response curve change.
Post by: proaudiohd on May 19, 2023, 12:39:08 PM
I have an APR Tiguan with the MED 17.5.2
The throttle plate does not open immediately, it opens with a very specific ramp time of 1.2 seconds under all loads and RPM's.  There is even a starting and ending radius to this ramp time.
I believe VW coded this ‘grandma curve’ intentionally. Be it for emissions, “smooth” driving experience, protecting the drivetrain, I’m not sure, but it makes the vehicle a dog to drive.

I want to hire someone for $1,000 (One of you, or someone you recommend) to get rid of this gentle curve in programming.
I want the throttle to open as fast as the actuator will let it. Looks like as little as 400ms judging by the release time. Maybe even faster, I haven’t tested it by itself.

Scope:
1.   Walk me through on a screen share where this curve is coded and how it can be changed to 0. No slope, no delay.
2.   Talk about consequences that have to be accounted for – adjusting other maps etc
3.   Modify my file and send it back to me
4.   Verify performance in-vehicle with logs
5.   Get paid

Maybe it´s just a dashpot value. Did you already ask you APR dealer? Maybe there is a newer version or even a factory update. Anyway without file or at least a version number hard to say...
