Title: 2000 Beetle 1.8 ECM issue 06A 906 032 C Post by: Bluestream on August 11, 2023, 09:23:58 AM Have a 2000 Beetle 1.8 with 5 speed with ECM going bad. Have random EPC light, often after a re-start I get crank-no start issues and some timetimes a random P0605 code
Overnight all codes go away and it starts all over. I have been told a 2000 Golf ECM 06A 906 032 CL (which I have) will work in the Beetle with some mods done. I don't have a VAGCOM, so have found a local guy with one. He is suggested to just disable the impobilzer in the "CL" ECM and give that a try. Or, can I copy the software from the old ECM to the "CL " ECM? Any advice on the best way to swap in the GOLF 06A 906 032 CL ECM to get it to work the best? Its not a straight swap, and the ecu pinout varies too.
