Title: ME7Logger - Stage 2 Me7.5 1.8T BAM - MAF stuck at 185g/s
Post by: mRj on November 07, 2023, 03:53:23 AM
Hi

I have logged my car on several runs, and the MAF is maxing out at 185g/s.

What would be the cause of this?

One of the logs

Why would you post a link to some graphics page instead of posting the log csv?

So you think your turbo can do more airmass  ;D. Maybe a wastegate duty cycle of 150% helps you out 8).

Okay, enough joking. If you want to cross-check if your airmass is restricted to 185g, simply raise your completely KFKHFM by 10% and lower your krkte by 10% for one run and check if it is still limiting at 185g or, suprise, surprise this time it is limiting at 203g/s :).

Next time you should mention sw number.

018h has in deed a airmass limiter at 188.9g/s, see 1bfca. But it is not a hard limiter, it only limits your pre-calculation.

Posted adress is okay for 360153, that is 0004 of 018H
other public Version s 360283 with 0003 (not often seen).

Edit: crosschecked, MLMAX is on both on same adress.

thanks for the help so far.

Will make some changes and also test another MAF to rule out the MAF isn't playing up to.

thanks for this, when i look at this in winols it has a value of 144 (or 90 in hex) - do you know the offsets etc, to get it correct?

Youre running 95% wgdc all the way, its just a limit of a turbo

As for the low readings for a k04, check air leakage, probably maf issue.

MLMAX are not limiter at all

Will do, i decided to check the map sensor, as it has some strange part no and a bolt missing.

replacing for an original one, and will do some new logging.

Does this mean simply enter the maximum value of MLHFM in MLMAX and the limitation is removed on software side?

MLMAX does absolutely nothing apart from affecting the load display in an OBD II (SAE) PID.
There is zero need to ever modify this.

No this is only the limit of pre-calculation for Display. You can change it, if you want to have for some after market Loggers more than the output of 189g/s.

On some ME7 you have MLDHFMKO which really limits your Airmass, if you cross that point Lambda is not calculated anymore.

They have "normal" factors, 16bit lohi, for kg/h use 0.1 or for g/s 0.027778.

OK, thank you both for your information.

I put the TT back on a stock map and still get about 185g/s but its certainly slower...will change some parts at the weekend and see what is going on.
