Title: ME7 wideband harness receptacle contact p/n
Post by: Lkz666 on November 09, 2023, 07:53:10 PM
First time posting... I am building a couple of wideband conversion harnesses for narrowband Audi TT's, I have all of the parts except I cannot figure out what is the p/n for the little tiny receptacle contacts that plug into the ECU. For pins 52 & 71.  Does anyone know the part number?  I have searched and searched but can't figure it out. Thanks.

Not sure you can buy those separately, because all the connectors come pre-pinned with them.
Meaning even if there's no wire, the receptacle is there.

I'm sure there is some sort of electronics part number, but I've no idea what it is, sorry.

Hello.

Google keywords:
Junior Power Timer and Micro Power Timer.

Look for a crimp tool that does between 0.25 and 1mm.  Also I'm sure I bought a universal connector kit to pull the old ones out.  It's basically 2 prong deal.  I think I could've made myself with a fork and some grinding.  Only problem is with that is the Mrs does not like it when her cutlery goes missing  ;D.

JPT was used on the older 55 pin fat connector.
I am not sure at all that MPT is what is used in the newer one, there's only one prong that is used on them for holding it in.
Haven't disassembled one in a while though.

I know the new plugs use these: 1 928 492 556

I think the ME7 style plugs could be 1 928 498 055, but not sure.
Could also be 1 928 498 000 and 1 928 498 001 but I remember it being rectangular, not round.

FYI there are spare pins in the connector itself without wires(not in all the locations). , take it out and solder it /crimp whatever. and put it back.
I did it the same way.

If you need the pins then gl I could never really find similar ones except the BCB ones prj said. But like I said I could salvage the pins from a spare location.

They should be AMPMODU Mod IV contacts.

To be 100% sure I need a partnumber of the plug or the ECU.

Grab some me7/edc15 ecu connectors from scrapyard, empty positions are filled with new unused contacts. Same goes with 32pin dashboard connectors from B5, C5 and other VAGs from the same era, same contacts can be found there.
