Title: CLT in EOBD Mode is -40. Post by: aef on September 09, 2024, 05:28:10 AM Hi,
friend of mine bought a car with me7.1 Turbo conversion and tries to pass emissions. He is unable to pass emissions check because coolant temp in vcds and emissions testing device is always -40 degree celsius. There is a reasonable clt reading in the dash and also measurement block 1. only problem is eobd cooland temp. Is there a link between readiness or other things that are mandatory to see real temperature in EOBD for coolant? No possibility to pull the software yet. Software is 022906032DR 9970 according to vcds. Title: Re: CLT in EOBD Mode is -40. Post by: _nameless on September 09, 2024, 06:09:19 AM How about you replace the coolant temp sensor
Title: Re: CLT in EOBD Mode is -40. Post by: aef on September 10, 2024, 11:17:01 PM Its not related to any real sensor data.
When you unpin the CLT sensor G62 the ecu measurement block 1 reading will switch to -48 and when you unpin the 2nd part of the sensor the cluster will show cold engine. New CLT sensor was tested before by the owner. The -40 in the eobd mode is not changing at all no matter what you do. Thatswhy i was asking for specific requirements when performing emissions test. Title: Re: CLT in EOBD Mode is -40. Post by: aef on September 13, 2024, 05:05:09 AM gremlin? There are two variables TMOTELI and TMELIPU1. TMOTELI is using the input from the sensor and is working and showing reasonable values in measurement block 1. TMELIPU1 is described as "when pullup is active" and is showing -40 all the time which is 4.9volts from the sensor according to the map. So which Switch or what is wrong here? I had a look into CWKONGTM and tried to change it to 0 (from 6) without success. Title: Re: CLT in EOBD Mode is -40. Title: Re: CLT in EOBD Mode is -40. Post by: aef on September 14, 2024, 03:14:49 AM Wires or ecu connection if you said the sensor was tested you didnt understand what has been written before the sensor in the car does work. its a shared sensor where 2 wires go into the ecu and two wires go to the cluster. the ecu shows temperature and the cluster shows temperature. the wiring and the sensor is okay. i modified TMELIPU1 to all 90s and the result with a new sensor located loosely in the engine bay is that the cluster and measurement block shows 90 on ignition on. when you drive the car the cluster will switch to 60 (lowest possible value on the left). I chose TMELIPU1 because there was -40 as a max value. So it looks like the cluster is feed from the ecu in some conditions. I thought the cluster is always feed from the sensor itself like it is on 1.8t cars. |
