Title: Flashing MED9.1 back to stock
Post by: Norwegian1.8T on October 16, 2024, 11:50:30 AM
So probably a stupid question but since there is a risk of me bricking the ECU im asking anyways.

Bought a shitty MK6 GTI Edition 35 with a really really really bad tune, so want it back to stock.
ECU is 5K0 907 115 K 0010 ( i have no idea what the 0100 is, im used to ME7.5 and those dont have that).

My question is:
Will flashing a full ORI file with MPPS or Kess V2 write immo data aswell? I think that immo data live in bootrom and flashing with OBD does not write this?

Dont worry about immo if you dont write eeprom (its not possible via obd). The best way to flash to stock is sgo.

I dont have ODIS sadly :(

If writing with MPPS should work i will try that.

Also, should i read the flash first? Heard some stories that it might f something up if it had read protection on it.

Tried writing with MPPS, and at first it loosed like it was going fine.
MPPS wrote to 100% and told me programming successful.

Started the car and it still has the same shitty tune on it, read the flash with MPPS and i get an file that says its encrypted, so apparently didnt write. Tried writing a couple more times just for fun but nope.

Will writing with ODIS work? Or do i have to go BDM?

Visit the vag dealer and let them flash with odis. Its the easiest solution in your case.

If you dont want to dig deeper into tuning in the future why buy other unneccessary bmd clone tools.

There is always a risk of damaging the ecu during opening and bdm'ing it.

Dealer cannot flash sgo with same version again, only higher versions which does not exist. The only problem here are bad clone tools. You maybe need to ask someone.

You can use also vcp for sgo or just flash ori file. dont need bdm
