Title: 04 Passat awm fueling control
Post by: Passat04 on December 27, 2024, 06:53:08 AM
I have an 04 Passat awm, 18DQ. What determines the switchover to enrichment? I have adjusted lamfa and bts for more fuel sooner in the rpm/load range but for pretty much all of first gear it’s still commanding 1.0 (or pretty close to it)lambda. It’s not until the shift to 2nd gear until I start seeing .8x lambda. I’ll upload the latest tune and bin.

Other than that the car runs pretty good. Still new to tuning this platform, I reach peak boost around 3500-4000 rpms and then tapers off to 9-10 psi at redline and around 12-15 degrees of timing.

What is the recommended total for these 1.8T engines? Boost psi + timing. In the GM LS world it’s around 28-30 ie. 14 psi/14 degrees etc. right now it’s around 24ish for the Passat. I haven’t messed with the timing from factory except for add another load column past the stock 140 load percentage.
