Title: DQ500 from Diesel in a petrol but 5000rpm shift limit. Post by: threepot on May 21, 2025, 10:20:26 AM So I am helping someone out who has put a DQ500 from a diesel pre-MQB Tiguan/Q3 into a petrol Audi TT.
It runs 0bh300012Q firmware version 5206 - stock file attached. I have changed all the vehicle speed shift tables to suit the petrol target speeds, and now it shifts really nicely at lower loads etc, and higher loads. But it will not let the engine rev over about 5000rpm, it aways shifts automatically to the next gear. There must be some sort of RPM limit that I am missing, has anyone got any tips or solutions? My modified file is also attached. Title: Re: DQ500 from Diesel in a petrol but 5000rpm shift limit. Post by: KmosK04 on May 22, 2025, 01:11:26 AM Just flash ttrs file

There are almost 40 of these maps in rs3/ttrs Title: Re: DQ500 from Diesel in a petrol but 5000rpm shift limit. Post by: threepot on May 22, 2025, 05:37:50 AM Just flash ttrs file Some else has tried that on mhhauto but when driving it triggers excessive slippage fault codes as the gear ratios are different. Expected shaft speeds are not what it expects and thus throws limp mode. Title: Re: DQ500 from Diesel in a petrol but 5000rpm shift limit. I will look at that table Title: Re: DQ500 from Diesel in a petrol but 5000rpm shift limit. Post by: aef on May 22, 2025, 06:39:38 AM Tooth of each gear can be changed too

Other people just dump the RS3 shift tables onto the tiguan flash, but these are not correct because the gearing is longer. RS3 shift speed will result in short shifting. Title: Re: DQ500 from Diesel in a petrol but 5000rpm shift limit. Post by: threepot on May 28, 2025, 04:25:19 PM I have made progress in certain parts.... I have managed to find the maximum speed in gear table for manual mode and that no longer limit it, we get full rpm pull at last.
But I cannot find what is stopping it from going over about 5000 rpm in auto gear mode, it is driving me nuts. I do not have a definition file for this 0bh300012Q sw5206 So I'm just scratching about looking for tables that are the same as the MQB ones that I have xdf / a2l and various OLS for. And all of this is in German, and I am an idiot with no idea what I'm even looking for. Does anyone have a definition file, or can generate them etc? This is all along way above my ability, this whole task is to be honest, but if I had definitions I feel like I could push it forwards. I tried to flash the RS3 firmware onto it using the FRF update files - I had to convert to SGO then change the seed key, and it started to do it, but then it wouldn't flash the first block correctly so its mapped out differently. It did soft brick it, and it wouldn't take the FL_0BH300012Q_5206_RTLO_sw.frf as it said its conditions are not met.... but by utter luck PCMFlash wrote that block back to it as its the only block it writes. Total rescue! Maybe the RS3 route is possible, I am struggling to get any full proper dumps from these early pre-MQB dq500 units, I have many for later ones as people clone them due to the component protection. I paid for a days licence with HexProg early today, but that will not read or write this as it only does DQ500-MQB >:( A friend has magic motorsport flex which I may have to borrow, but I have a full dump from a RS3 0DL300012H 2110 and a good definition, but the memory mapping is totally different, I'm not sure it will even boot on it, they are not the same size flash areas.
