Title: Simulated 2 step auto Trans 1.8T Post by: Viirn1.8T on July 28, 2025, 04:50:19 PM I have been playing with this idea that with ME7.5 the ecu can pick up on what gear you are in and vehicle speed
is it not possible to Simulate 2 step? if you set up a file that will give you a soft/ or hard cut limiter say 3,500 rpm you would also set so that when your in neutral with foot on brake or even with E brake pulled up you would be able to rev and bang off the limiter to thus create 2 step without needing any external rev limiters ( 2 step wired up box) i had dabbled around with chat GPT to give an idea at what offset and at what limiters you would have to address to be able to code the ecu in this way my current tuner has little knowledge of Autos in this area i personally don't own Winols to try and mess around with my spare ecu this is purely for fun and for possible run at a 2 step comp if this could even be done i know i may get some hate for the post but i love to learn and would like to understand why or why not this could work 1.8t 06A 01 passat running 4B0906018 CM/CL ecu chat GPTs ecu file would brick the ecu and i would fix via bootmode with ME7check and sum was told uncorrectable error in startaddor/endaddor portion at the end of the check not really surprised it didnt work lol hoping to have a good discussion thanks! It lies and hallucinates. is it not possible to Simulate 2 step? if you set up a file that will give you a soft/ or hard cut limiter say 3,500 rpm you would also set so that when your in neutral with foot on brake or even with E brake pulled up you would be able to rev and bang off the limiter to thus create 2 step without needing any external rev limiters ( 2 step wired up box) i had dabbled around with chat GPT to give an idea at what offset and at what limiters you would have to address to be able to code the ecu in this way my current tuner has little knowledge of Autos in this area i personally don't own Winols to try and mess around with my spare ecu this is purely for fun and for possible run at a 2 step comp if this could even be done i know i may get some hate for the post but i love to learn and would like to understand why or why not this could work 1.8t 06A 01 passat running 4B0906018 CM/CL ecu chat GPTs ecu file would brick the ecu and i would fix via bootmode with ME7check and sum was told uncorrectable error in startaddor/endaddor portion at the end of the check not really surprised it didnt work lol hoping to have a good discussion thanks! Title: Re: Simulated 2 step auto Trans 1.8T Post by: Viirn1.8T on July 28, 2025, 05:11:10 PM there are truth in your words but the concept of the idea is still out there and i was able to check out some of the parameters that it said i should take a look at I used the Winols5 test verison to find thew addresses in the bin file that it had mentioned and those were true and not hard to find but like i said i have no access to save and export a file i could try and post the screen recording i did of the repsonse or how about bouncing ideas off you?
its literally just using the data and software of the ecu to pretty much set a limiter in a specific scenario for the ecu to limit rpms and increase fuel+spark for the exact action of depressing the clutch pedal and all of the other stuff that is coded in for the effect i didnt say or think it was going to be easy thats why i need someone with knowledge of winols and tuning to help me on my journey Title: Re: Simulated 2 step auto Trans 1.8T Post by: _nameless on July 28, 2025, 07:18:16 PM Take the current public code and switch the call from clutch to break and presto you have auto 2 step for whatever reason. Its not like its rocket science
Title: Re: Simulated 2 step auto Trans 1.8T Post by: Viirn1.8T on July 29, 2025, 02:45:15 AM So take a current 2 step code/bin file from here and do the changes? Well unfortunately I dont really know how to do that..... I can barely edit an acutal file and online all the "free" versions of winols are sketchy. Would you be willing to help me out. If you have the time? I can of course pay for services.... I just havent found anyone who can help me. Do what I want to do. And you seem to be getting my understanding. 8)
im asking here bc honestly. Public code is Chinese to me. Im assuming thats a public. Manual 2 step that someone has given to the community. But I fail to understand how to implicate it Title: Re: Simulated 2 step auto Trans 1.8T Post by: _nameless on July 29, 2025, 10:55:07 PM Yeah upload the file I can do that. I have made some custom tools that automate it.

Thanks, you very much i will add my current running tuned file from my tuner hopefully it is not protected in any way but we shall sort that out as well and very nice on the program to automate that you have quite a few programs that are great! also while we are here am i able to get a regular 2 step file and a aggressive one so to speak... im not looking to break the motor or anything but it would be nice to try out i take all the risk in asking these so thanks again! im currently in the middle of a sudden tear down for timing as my T belt tried to shred itself just after i re did the head gasket and various other things! looking forward to try the new Map/File Title: Re: Simulated 2 step auto Trans 1.8T Post by: Viirn1.8T on August 20, 2025, 12:00:16 PM All Right well i am bumping this post again
as i need to find someone who is competent in adding 2 step (no launch) to an auto 1.8t passat i already have the tuned file from my remote tuner it is a well done and well defined ecu tune im not even asking for a handout i will pay but i want it done right |
