Title: Can somebody shed a little light on my ECU?? 8D0907557P Post by: Motoxluke on August 14, 2012, 07:14:24 PM ok i just bought a 1999 Audi A4 1.8t and i am trying to find an affordable route to tuning my stock ECU. I dont want to buy a chip or anything like that..i am familiar with efi and i would like to tune it my self. I am new to the ECU coding and Eprom reflashing though , but i have play with normal computer coding for like software cracks n what not...
My ECU is a Bosch M5.9.2 and i understand this has a flash rom (similar to EEPROM?) If anyone can enlighten me on how to access my stock ecu .bin and locate the maps in the hex code,, wth tuner pro or WinOLs?How? I am willing to put in all the time i need to understand every aspect of this ECU and how to tune it properly.. This can be obtained via a cheap KKL dongle and vagcom/vcds. As you cannot read-out the flashrom via obd. I think i have a readout from that ecu somewhere around, and if you do not have any soldering and/or flashrom-programming equipment, this is the CHEAPEST route. Buy a MPPS for re-programming your ecu. A tip : find on this forum the M3.8 .ols-projectfile. This describes for roughly 70-80 precent the important maps of the M5.92. As they are the same family of Ecu. and the M3.8 is sometimes based on M5.92 (agu 1.8T euro M3.8.3) Let's see how things work-out. Cheers, PvL |
