Title: New user.. been a member for a little while... can someone help me out
Post by: jdm ej1 95 on August 17, 2012, 05:59:13 PM
i have a previously flashed ecu..  its flashed by a company that is no longer around as of recent.. and i am trying to get the file from it.

the file was originally flashed on an APR based server.  so obviously i tried nefmoto software and the flash failed because it failed to verify the memory layout.  im assuming because there is protection on the tune..

is there any way i can get this file?

Why do you want it?

You don't need to verify the layout.

Have you actually connected and tried to read?

If all else fails, there is always bootmode with Galletto.

Yea I tried.. ill post the log tomorrow.... I want it so I can start self tuning with a solid base... It's not a full tune just break in... BTW the car is a 3.0l s4 with gt28rs. Mafless but I also have a maf setup..

Start from scratch.

Start from scratch.

will it be possible to simply flash over this file?  im trying to get a spare ecu so i can do just that.. but it would also be nice to have a good starting point... seeing as i dont really have much free time.

Get a Galletto cable and bootmode it.

The learning curve is steep and your setup isn't exactly simple.

I don't see an ethical issue here.

Why MAFless though?

definitely not a tune i could even do something unethical with...

its a 13psi base file that doesnt run 100%  it was just something to use while getting the motor broken in.

i was going to run 034 standalone so i planned everything to be mafless. but when the time came i didnt have the money to do 034 so i was stuck with the stock ecu mafless.. it runs pretty good as it is and made nearly 400awhp.. but its time for more.

i do have a 2.5 inch y pipe setup i built with a 90mm MAF elbow(hitachi).. so i may just toss that back on and find a decent base file to start with.. but i cant seem to find any 90mm tunes. although i assume i can probably use an 85mm tune to start and tweak from there.

Let's not turn it into that... Mike is a talented tuner.  A very smart guy I just think some things got in the way of that.

anywho..

so if i create a new base file.. i SHOULD Be able to flash over the file on my ecu currently with  nefmoto?

im going back to MAF. and im pretty sure i could handle making a file that runs ok.
