Title: vehicle speed signal - not working, what would this upset in the me7? 1.8t

vehicle speed signal - not working, what would this upset in the me7? 1.8t

example is a transplant 1.8t into lupo (my wifes car)
seems very jerky in low throttle low gears no matter what file I use, stock modded, type etc.. beginning to wonder if this long standing code is the ultimate issue?

What features would manifest from a missing speed sensor?

Its light throttle, driving through town slowly feel is quite jerky at times..

thanks

[edited to correct my typo.. not engine speed signal, vehicle speed signal...... its been a long day!)

No engine speed = no run.

Wait, you are asking what would happen if the ECU does not have an RPM signal?
Seriously? :)

Guess the engine has to visually guess the timing.

Yes, there are several places the ECU uses the output of the vehicle speed sensor. Consult the FR.

jeez, thanks..

very helpfull..

cheers for that.

You guys should seriously look at how you reply to things... unhelpfull and "just read the Function Diagram" type responses is pretty unhelpful in the main.  I know it may be beneath some folks to actually post helpfull information, but this continual read the FD reply is a perthetic response..  Why bother typing a reply at all eh?
